Categories

Cleanliness
1
Mixed reports: bathrooms repeatedly described as clean, with several guests saying 'really clean', but others noted sticky floors and quick turnover cleaning that reduced room cleanliness — net neutral.
Service
1
Generally strong positive: multiple guests praised staff as friendly and helpful; a few procedural negatives (self check-in expectations) and one unrelated guest-dog incident were mentioned but did not outweigh positive staff interactions.
Location
1
Location repeatedly praised (Yaletown/downtown, close to cafes and transit), though exterior/run-down areas and significant nighttime noise from nearby clubs reduce the location score slightly.
Room Quality
1
Several comfort issues: sticky floors, rooms described as a bit cold, stairs-only access for some guests (difficult with luggage), and poor sound insulation leading to disturbed sleep — overall below expectation for room comfort.
Amenities
1
Positive mention of usable kitchen (drinkable tap water, tea/coffee), available shared bathrooms that were often free to use, and useful in-room sinks; minor negatives like missing wine glasses noted.
Value for Money
1
Multiple guests commented that prices were reasonable for the downtown location and overall cost-quality ratio was acceptable; the $200 deposit was a noted downside but did not fully negate perceived value.
Food and Beverage
1
Very limited food offering: at least one guest noted no breakfast provided ('What breakfast? We went out.'), with only basic tea/coffee available — below expectations for F&B service.
Overall Experience
1
Mixed overall: many guests recommend the property for price and location and praise staff, but noise issues, some cleanliness/comfort problems, and procedural friction produce a slightly negative aggregate experience.

Well located accomodation in the centre of Vancouver
Pros:

Very well located in Downtown Vancouver, a few streets from the Yaletown district. Room was reasonable sized for two people but was a little cramped with two large suitcases and no storage.
Staff were very helpful and everything was clean.

Cons:

Our room was opposite the shared bathrooms which meant it could be quite loud during the night with people using it. Would recommend earplugs.

A nice stay overall.
Pros:

The room and kitchen.

Cons:

The ventilation in the bathrooms were very loud. People staying near the bathroom would not be able to sleep.

It would be nice if the kitchen can have a toaster oven. not everything can fit into the toaster.

Affordable hostel
Pros:

The kitchen was great for making coffee or tea. The staff were okay, not overly friendly but professional. They store suitcases for free upon check-out, which is a nice touch. Affodable hostel. I'd come back.

Cons:

The location is good, but the street isn't the best part of town. There are many homeless people and drug use in the area, so I would avoid it if you're not comfortable with that.
There's a nightclub in front of the hotel called Twelve West, which can be noisy on weekends. The staff warned us about it and provided earplugs.
There are only 4 showers in total, which is low for the number of people in the hostel.

Pros:

The property in itself was ‘ok’ it was clean

Cons:

It was difficult to get our cases up the stairs but gretta helped us . But unfortunately the guy that was supposed to be looking after our cases on check out didn’t keep an eye on them and my holiday has been ruined . They let someone in and one person stole my case while the other kept him busy which had everything in , sentimental stuff contact lenses , clothes , washing gear , shoes, music earplugs, new expensive clothes that I’ve spent a year saving up for the visit , Dyson hairdryer , straighteners , antidepressant drugs , which I rely on as I’ve just lost my husband . They reported it to the police and I’ve heard nothing , so I have two weeks of holiday with no clothes no contact lenses etc nothing so I cant see and no waterproofs . It’s ruined my holiday which I’ve been saving for a whole year . The street in Granville is dodgy but you really thought that the doors would keep the unsavoury people out . 🤷‍♀️ really don’t bother .

Hinta-laatusuhde kohdillaan
Pros:

Yhteiskeittiö siisti ja toimiva. Jääkaappi myös omassa huoneessa.

Cons:

Huoneen järjestelystä, jota itse helposti muutettiin toimivammaksi oleskelumme ajaksi.
