Beautiful, new, well-maintained, family-friendly resort with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff in a prime location.
The resort had only been open for a month when we visited, so everything was in excellent condition. Our room was tastefully and practically furnished, and the bed was very comfortable. One detail that stood out was the excellent water pressure in the shower.
The food was good, with a wide variety of options. Between meal times, the bar also offered sandwiches and pastries. Although the beach is lively, the resort has a spacious and beautifully landscaped private beach area that is separated from the public section. Plenty of palm trees provide welcome shade and create the perfect setting for breathtaking sunsets. Thanks to the attentive and friendly security staff, we always felt comfortable leaving our belongings on the beach.
The resort is especially family-friendly. We would like to give special thanks to Adda, who was wonderful with our daughter and represents the warmth and kindness shown by the entire team.
The management actively seeks guest feedback, listens to suggestions, and genuinely implements improvements.
A few finishing touches are still to be completed (for example, the temporary plastic windbreak in the restaurant).
For an Italian-owned resort, we had expected better coffee and better wines.
The resort was in its soft-opening phase with relatively low occupancy. The team (especially the service staff) will no doubt continue to refine their processes to reduce waiting times and ensure that no orders are forgotten.
Wi-Fi coverage was excellent throughout the entire resort, although the connection speed was rather slow.
Fabulous hotel and staff with perfect location to enjoy your stay. They also gave us a late checkout without paying an extra fee.
This resort is stunning!!! I stayed in a junior suite. The room was so spacious and beautiful. The staff goes above any beyond to make your stay perfect. This resort is luxurious and I highly recommend staying here.
The only area with room for improvement would be the food. I only at at the buffet and didn't try the restaurant, but sometimes certain buffet items just weren't tasty. For example, the waffles during breakfast were inedible because they were hard.

Our stay at Sandies was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel was new and very clean! The meals were our highlight. Everyday the meals in the buffet changed and the meals were very good! The all inclusive package was truly worth it. We were constantly fed and had plenty to drink! The staff were friendly and professional! Special shout out to Erick! He was extremely kind and friendly. 100% recommend Sandies Nungwi!

Loved the facilities. The pool was amazing, the spa, location, the sunset and access to the beach. The rooms were clean and beautiful. And the staff were exceptional.

Nicest looking resort in Nungwi! Very clean, staff are very friendly and accommodating, food and drinks are delicious.
We had a wonderful stay in Zanzibar. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and very well maintained, with a relaxing atmosphere and great facilities. The rooms were comfortable, the food was delicious, and the location was perfect.
What truly made our experience special was the amazing staff. Every team member was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with a genuine smile. Their warm hospitality and professionalism made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived until the day we left.

What can I say.
It was clean. Big but not too big. The rooms were exceptionally nice.
This hotel had only opened a week prior to our arrival so they weren’t many guests. The room we had had never been used and the outlook was directly across from the ocean.
The staff were very very efficient and catered to everything we wanted.
The food was very very good. My husband was especially happy as they catered very well for vegetarians.
The dining area was spacious and very comfortable.
The bar areas were also very comfortable.
It was a really lovely hotel to stay in. There were security guards patrolling the hotel so it felt very very safe and secure.
Don’t get me wrong you had no need to feel concerned about safety. They obviously know their country and know perfectly well what visitors like.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zanzibar.
There was hardly anything to dislike about this hotel.
Suggestions I would give to improve?
Perhaps small tables between the loungers? Would save the ants attacking your drinks.
The only downside I would say is the amount of boats moored in the sea. When we first arrived they were all moored in the swimming area.
Some days it felt hard to find a safe place to swim. But walk further along the beach and there are lots of swimming places.
On our last two days though a cordoned area was made where boats couldn’t enter. This was much better.
Hopefully this will be ongoing.
