Holiday Inn Express Toledo North by IHG

When I booked this hotel, I knew that I would be checking in late, due to the fact that I would be driving from Buffalo New York to Toledo after work, which is about five hours, they said that the check-in time cuts off at 1 AM which was perfect because I was probably gonna get there around 11 to 12. Anyways, after a long day of traveling, we finally made it to the hotel around midnight. Now I booked this reservation through booking.com about a week prior I would say .. when I arrived at check-in the lady who was at the front desk was very rude and she proceeds to say “ we don’t have any more rooms” which I followed by saying oh that’s OK. I have a reservation though thinking that maybe she thought I was coming in randomly and not someone who prepaid for a room.. she said no you’re not understanding we’re booked out. We don’t have rooms for you. The one room we do have is under maintenance. We sold your room. Which I’m absolutely shook because I just drove five hours now. I need to figure out where I can spend the rest of the night so I can get back on the road tomorrow. So annoyed I say OK can I just get a refund? And she basically said no I can’t because I used booking.com. I have yet to get my refund and this is at the end of July.

Nothing

The box spring on one of the beds was broken and the air conditioner couldnt be adjusted. I complained to the hotel staff and they said they woukd speak to the manager and give me a call and they never did

There wasn’t anything to eat nearby.

When I came in to check in staff was not friendly like he was mad at me. That was my first time in holiday inn and seems I don’t want to visit on this hotel again because of what that staff treated me.

We arrived at 6PM after traveling for 16hours on the road. Check in time was 3PM. They told us they did not have a room ready. When I expressed frustration I was told I could go get food and come back, that it could be up to another 30 minutes because they are short staffed. 3 hours late on a room is ridiculous. Then when we got into the room it had an odor. Like dirt and sweat. I’m thinking it was the carpet because it was disgusting. As the night when on I noticed more issues, loose tiles on the floor, broken or loose shower amenities, dirty mirror, dirty toilet, loose hand rails in the shower, and again the smell from the carpet. I had a two year old with me and wasn’t even comfortable letting him play on the ground it was so dirty. I was so disappointed that u actually canceled out next stay. We were supposed to stay at this location on the way home and I booked somewhere else because we did not want to stay here again, let alone for $150/night. Very disappointing.
