Modern and close to the river
We booked when full breakfast was stated on Booking .com. Got a continental breakfast instead. We were notified about this by phone a couple of days prior.
Disappointed that only continental breakfast was on offer especially in view of no meal availability the night before as kitchen closed.
Dinner and option of cooked breakfast
The dukes head is in a lovely location, peaceful village with plenty of outside seating.
The only thing I would say is with the continental breakfast, the refill of croissant, cereals and milk as they were being used by the guests, meant there was not enough on offer, as it was not being replaced quickly enough for the guests coming in a bit later.
Good Shower-overall the room was clean and well decorated as was the rest of the pub
Very small room, no light where the desk was. No food available not mentioned on website or on booking.com until i telephoned to enquire about the menu. As we checked in we were informed the bar would close at 8pm.
Breakfast was very poor no ham only salami -tinned fruit- watermelon and some pastries and cereal.
Location, clean room, comfortable, staff on arrival very helpful, Bar when open good
Bar closing at 750 on Saturday evening without communication, was quiet night but would've liked to no, no service after 750pm
Had to go out to have drink, no Ice available to keep water cool
Breakfast on second day was same lovely selection but staff seemed busy or unavailable to greet an be around to ask, help or even book out of room
Everything you couldwish for in an overnight stay.
Maybe on site restaurant, but it’s their choice not to have one.
It is very close to Fox & Pheasant pub, has they do not have a restaurant here.
Very dog friendly hotel.
No mention that the breakfast is continental when booking and also no mention of additional cost of £15 for dogs.
Both of the above were not mentioned until receiving a phone call once the cancellation taste and time had passed, even though I sent message upon booking with no responses.
Great location peaceful setting very quiet and relaxing location rooms were lovely and clean
We arrived and were told they didn’t have chef for evening meals but the lady guide us down country road two minute walk to another country pub for food so wasn’t that bad
Clean, welcoming, well decorated, great sized rooms and staff very friendly.
Could do with pillows that are bigger. Would advise to take your own if you are particular.
Comfy bed
Walls a bit thin and too many yappy dogs at breakfast!
Staff were really friendly and had good information (e.g. local pub/fish and chips info for dinner). Breakfast was excellent and good to be included in the price.
Nothing was bad
