the building is amazing. i was impressed at the renovation, its always great when great architecture can be saved and used
the only downfall is parking
We arrived late, after 10pm, which I did communicate this to the front desk prior to arrival - we arrived and they originally did not have my reservation through Booking.com. This was resolved by the time I made it down to the front desk the next morning before heading to breakfast. We did have to spend our first night in an 'off-line' room, which was not terrible.
Lindsay the Manager at the front desk was AMAZING and so helpful throughout our entire stay. Any question we had, she was able to steer us in the right direction and her suggestions were perfect for our stay!
Being in the middle of downtown was EXACTLY what we wanted! Walking distance to ALL the FUN!
Communication between Booking.com and Hilton - for some reason the night staff at the front desk was unable to see our reservation, which was a pain, as we just traveled 6 hrs in a vehicle and all we wanted to do was sleep 🤪
ambiente bonito e travesseiros/cama
chuveiro péssimo e ar condicionado barulhento e intermitente. Banho horrível com chuveiro q ia do super quente ao gelado sem ficar no meio-termo por mais de alguns segundos.
As someone with a heavy and absurdly large suitcase, I was disturbed to see a bunch of stairs to get to the entrance.
We arrived overnight, 1am, and it was nice that someone was there to lift our heavy bags up to the lobby. It was also nice that there was a person, behind the desk, as we walked in, to check us in at that hour.
They must have expected us bc check in took about 30 seconds and everything was ready which was greatly appreciated after a long day of traveling.
The man said something about the room being over to the left. I saw an elevator and my first instinct was to go in it. We stepped in it and when it was time to choose a floor, my heart sunk when I realized that our room number was 123. You know what that means. First floor. I don’t think I have ever been on the first floor in a hotel in my life.
Ok so we then stepped out of the elevator (humiliated) and went around the corner. Needless to say, the view is trash. I think there is both a wall and a dumpster, within our view.
The ceilings are high and that means the curtains are very high and therefore hard to move. The room is on the smaller side but the high ceilings make the room seem larger.
The bathroom was decently sized at least. The shower was also decently sized and with decent water pressure. The water temperature was easy to figure out and control. The toiletries were well stocked. We were given 3 towels for two of us which is better than two but worse than four. The towels were basically sand paper.
To the contrary, the bed was heavenly. I LOVE that they do an actual sheet rather than just the fitted sheet and a duvet as if we are sleeping in the tundra. One of the pillows was a joke of a pillow, which is unfortunately pretty common in hotels I have noticed. The other pillow had barely adequate enough integrity to be better than a few layers of tissue paper.
Thermostat worked well.
Location, btw, couldn’t be better. The market is basically right next door as well as many restaurants and bars.
The house keeping is every other day. Our room got zero TLC after our first night. After the second night, our room was made up but our three "main towels" had tumbled down to two which is, as said above, worse than three. Oh, when we arrived there was that extra roll of toilet paper but the active roll (on the dispenser) had like two sheets so we were cutting it close after the first full day and had to request another. When our room was serviced on the second full day, we weren't given any additional TP! Cutting down our towel supply and not replenishing the TP? What did we ever do to you? We had to ask for another buffer/safer roll again for the second night in a row. Desk people probably thought we were dumb and having diarrhea.
This stuff weren't deal breakers but made for a less than ideal stay.
Judge did an excellent job job of unloading my car n helping me get online to pay for my parking
He was friendly n encouraging! He gave me directions to various restaurants around the hotel
Beautiful hotel and great valet service. It was a great stay.
The entire staff from the GM/AGM and down. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Allie was absolutely she helped out above and beyond with making sure everything was great.
Judge Rodger’s Valet was super kind and helpful! Thank you!
A well maintained historic property with character.
The room was dark with no outlook whatsoever. In my view it was grossly overpriced.
The people at the front desk and the valet Judge Rodgers were terrific.
Elegant old world charm and architecture!
Nothing
I can not say enough good about this hotel!! It’s beautiful, clean, and architecturally cool! It’s in walking distance to great food, sights, the lake, local attractions, the public market, third ward, etc…Now, to talk about the staff; ten out of ten stars! Every single person we encountered was friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Wilhelm, at the front desk, who we never got to meet, but who picked out a room to accommodate our wants before we even arrived! Then there was Hasani in the bar/restaurant who went way above and beyond, and Ryan at the valet stand who made us feel at home. There were more who deserve accolades, but I didn’t get there names, sadly. One of the best cities and hotels we’ve ever visited. Two huge thumbs up. We will be back!!
Mr T in valet was awesome! Brought my car up immediately and help load all my luggage.
The staff was awesome. Very friendly and helpful
Judge was absolutely fantastic! Very helpful, friendly and professional! 10 out of 10 for service for sure!
The body wash in the shower made me break out in hives
Friendliness of the staff from the hotel to the valets.
Maybe an ATM in the hotel.
