A deposit via PayPal for nonrefundable plan is required to secure guest reservations. The property will contact the guests after booking on instructions about payment. Guests must make the payment via PayPal within the instructed date or guest reservations may be canceled.


Spa & Pool access is available at an additional charge, unless included in room charge. Please note that children 3 years old and below cannot enter the spa facilities including the open-air heated tub, hot springs bath and pool. Children 12 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Children 13 years and older may enter the fitness center.


We would like to announce that all the facilities in the pool area will be temporarily closed for regular maintenance.
The maintenance will be held on the following dates.
・From Monday, September 29, 2025 to Friday, October 3, 2025
・From Monday, March 2, 2025 to Friday, March 6, 2025
The fitness gym, bathing area with “Onsen” bath and locker rooms can be used during the above periods.

Guests with tattoos may not be permitted to use the property’s public bathing areas or other facilities where the tattoos might be visible to other guests.

Pure Japanese five-star luxury!
Pros:

This hotel oozes old-school class, and feels like you stepped right into 1990's or early 2000's five star luxury while still maintaining a distinctive Japanese atmosphere. The rooms are all massive and extremely clean, and the property is simply gorgeous. It took us 15-20 minutes to walk the on-site garden; it's massive!

Cons:

It's a bit of a hike to reach the hotel if you're planning on using public transport during your stay. We'd recommend only those comfortable paying for taxis to choose Chinzanso (this is what we did).

Fijne ruime kamer, geweldige roomservice. Rust, de tuin is wel aardig, kleiner dan verwacht.

Cons:

Ondanks dat we netjes gekleed waren en ons prima verhouden tot 5 sterren service, voelde dit hotel over the top. Met spijkerbroek, sneakers en rugzak wordt je echt weggekeken door de andere (bruiloften)gasten. Opgeprikt wel allemaal, moet je tegen kunnen. Bijzonder dat ze het op booking.com zetten..

Incredible stay, a wow start to finish
Pros:

It was the epitome of old school luxury and opulence. It was a truly special experience start to finish, from the incredible gardens to the extremely friendly and courteous staff. Housekeeping were fantastic as well. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were very well appointed. Everything was impeccable. Would highly recommend!

Cons:

Smart tvs in the rooms would be fab but not overly necessary

A wonderful stay in a relaxing location
Pros:

A beautiful hotel with spacious rooms including all amenities and a fantastic garden the staff were wonderful and super helpful

Cons:

You had to pay an additional charge to use the swimming pool and onsen springs We also stayed at a very busy time due to the fireflies and it was difficult to get a reservation for dinner even with the various restaurants on site

Nice at a price
Pros:

In May they have fireflies in the garden at night, that was fantastic. We took the suite upgrade (and extra 50000 jpy over the King room) and that was very nice, with exec lounge access. The staff are also fantastic and friendly.

Cons:

Limited food choices, set menus. Budget over 20000 jpy per person for dinner and drinks. The (awesome) Japanese breakfast is an additional 6000jpy per person even if breakfast is included in your rate. Location is uninteresting other than the garden next door, and a bit of a pain to get to. Some customers maybe a bit stuffy for casual travellers.

Beautiful hotel to stay
Pros:

Every night, ladies came to do turn down service, which was very nice. Hotel amenities are L'Occitane and excellent quality. The garden in the Hotel was magnificent. Internet was also fast compared to other hotels.

Cons:

The location was just outside of the city center. The subway station is rather far. Hotel was located up hill from subway station and very difficult to go out without a car. No convenient store near the Hotel.

Cons:

Etwas altmodisch und das Frühstück ist für den Preis nicht angemessen. Zudem kamen die Gerichte von meiner Partnerin und mir nicht gleichzeitig. Wir haben mehr oder weniger zeitversetzt gegessen.
