The hotel and grounds were very pretty (aside from our room).
For a 4 star hotel and what we paid, we were very disappointed with the accommodations. The hotel itself was very pretty and nice, however, our room was extremely outdated, and the location was in a corner right by the staff closet where they sat on the floor right outside our door every morning at 7:00 am and talked loudly. It woke us up daily. Our windows looked out to a fire escape and we couldn’t open them because the smell of fried food was so bad it would fill the room, so the room was very hot at night.

The hotel is gorgeous and the bed was delightful.
We spent one night at Duisdale hotel in March 2026 and wanted to express how disappointed we were in the experience we had. We had a dinner reservation at 7.30pm. Our drinks and food order were taken together but the drinks took so long to come, we had already finished our starters by the time they arrived. My main course, the lobster tortellini was quite bad. It lacked any real flavour and the pasta was much too thick. I did mention this to staff at the time and the waiter just agreed it was very thick. Very odd. The food seemed so rushed we didn't feel we had time to relax and enjoy ourselves. We're usually the type of people that will order a bottle of wine and a nightcap but we were back in our room by 8.30pm finding the atmosphere and experience disappointing. The staff at reception were apologetic and very nice but I was very surprised that no gesture of goodwill had been taken were the bill was concerned. I would have expected the two glasses of wine to be complimentary for being so late or even our time at the hot tub taken off the bill. Anything. At breakfast this morning, I found 2 synthetic hairs in my eggs benedict and no one came to take our dirty plates away. It feels like the staff need a bit more training as this is portrayed as a high end establishment. We also found a blue cleaning cloth in one of our towels in the bathroom. We had been travelling around Scotland for a week and I never imagined that Duisdale house would be the one to let us down. We were told to send a message to management which we did and never heard back. Not worth the money.

J'apprécie le puits de lumière dans l'entrée et la double porte qui isole bien des bruits du couloir.
Le dîner est correct, sans être exceptionnel à mon goût. Tous les plats sont globalement bien réalisés, mais il leur manque à tous un petit "kick" pour les rendre marquants. Compte-tenu de la notoriété du restaurant de l'hôtel, l'ensemble du repas est donc plutôt décevant.
C'était très bruyant au dîner car il y avait un grand groupe dans la salle d'à côté. C'était même difficile d'entendre ce que le serveur nous disait.
Le système de check-in et d'installation des convives en salle à manger gagnerait à être plus fluide.
