Exceptional hotel

Sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel
Pros:

Die Atmosphäre dieses altehrwürdigenden Hauses ist phantastisch. Alles kommt einem irgendwie vor als lebe man in einem Schloss. Das Personal ist höflich, sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Das Abendmenü im Restaurant war sehr lecker und erstaunlich günstig, inkl. Wein. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig.

Cons:

An sich gab es nichts zu beanstanden. Lediglich der Kaffee aus einem Nescafé Vollautomaten schmeckte zu sehr nach "Pulver mit heißem Wasser" aufgegossen.

Der sehr gute Service und die Räumlichkeiten.

Cons:

Das Frühstück ist gut aber nicht den vier Sternen entsprechend (u.a. O-Saft nicht frisch gepresst sondern aus dem Tetra Pak, Instant-Kaffee aus der Maschine).

Living like royalty
Pros:

The place is amazing. The first impression at arrival is of a fortress. Once you step in to the building you are engulfed with the beauty of a castle. When you finally enter your room it feels like being in a palace with your bed located under a vaulted ceiling. My wife and I felt like being the monarchs of Soto del Barco.

Cons:

The heating of the room could have been somewhat more responsive to our royalty demands

Angenehmer Aufenthalt
Pros:

Die Lobby ist sehr mondän. Das macht schon Eindruck. Dabei bleibt es immer noch wohnlich. Im Zimmer war alles OK.

A comfy stopover option right on the Camino
Pros:

Fantastic hotel right on the Camino, with very spacious and comfortable rooms (the bathroom was enormous) in a beautiful old palace building. Located in a quiet corner of a small town. Food and service at the restaurant were great - not the cheapest, but saved us walking back into the small town on a rainy evening to find dinner.
