Great hotel with fantastic mountain view, but a bit far from city center
Pros:

The hotel is nearby a big shopping center and other fast-food stores such as KFC and McDonald, very easy to get some food. The room is quite large with comfortable bed. The view from the room is fantastic and exactly like the example photo showed on the website.

Cons:

The location is a bit distant from the city center. Although it is easy to go by public transportation since there is a bus station in front of the hotel, in fact there are not so many buses running on weekend and holidays, not that convenient.

Clean hotel. Helpful staff
Pros:

Hotel is clean and front staff is very helpful and pleasant. As others said bus 6 picks you up right in front and takes you to the trains and downtown. The bathroom has a large low mirror with only a sheer drape so showering at night was a little creepy knowing anyone could see in, however there is probably nothing close enough to see much. There is not much to do in Chur- I’d recommend one night unless you want to kayak and hike near the gorge then two days is nice.

Pros:

Spacious modern clean room, great views, comfortable beds, good shower. Really helpful staff. Free bus to train station/centre from right outside the hotel. Would recommend this hotel.

Cons:

The restaurant and bar were not very appealing for us, but the free bus into town made it easy to go out. There was immediate access from the shopping center next door to the hotel, without going through the lobby, which was convenient, but I would have preferred that only guests could access the lift to get to bedroom floors. We had no issues but perhaps something for the hotel to consider for security.

Incredible views!!!
Pros:

Very easy to get to via bus from the train station, good breakfast in the morning, convenience of shopping mart behind. Friendly and helpful staff. Incredible views!!!

Cons:

Room cleanliness could have been a little better. A minor quibble.

A Great Example of Excellent Hospitality!
Pros:

First of all, we fell in love with Chur which really surprised us because we thought of it as a transitional city after taking the Bernina Express from Tirano. We wished we had one day more there especially with the room we had at Mercure West! We had the corner room that had its own sauna and with a spectacula view of the mountains! The friendliness of the staff (restaurant staff included) is also first rate which we found surprising in a Swiss city especially with us, not conversant in German. The hotel provided us with a bus pass which made it all the more convenient to visit Old Town and even to go to the train station later. The Coop store in the building was also the best among the cities we visited in Switzerland!

Lovely stay in Chur
Pros:

The view from the room was glorious. Room size was excellent and beautifully clean.

Cons:

Price of the breakfast was expensive so chose to eat elsewhere.
