The Room
Stadhampton
I stay there for work and every time I ask for a invoice and they promise they will send it and it never arrives
Great location and the grounds were very nice as were some parts of the hotel itself.
Very expensive for what it is, the room was very ‘tired’ needs a make over, the fixtures and fittings just very old etc. Two major issues for me:
1. The staff - not attentive, very lax in their attitude, and the service was generally poor. Example was our dinner in the Thai restaurant, we waited almost 45 mins for our cocktails at the end and even then the order was wrong. Trying to get the attention of the staff was virtually impossible. When you’re paying almost £400 for one night accommodation, I would expect more !
2. The fire alarm went off continuously on and off for about 15 minutes on the Sunday morning, starting at 07:30, ruined any chance of a lay in. I had to ring reception to find out what was happening, no apology, just told me they were aware there was a problem. When checking out, mentioned this again to the reception staff, who said he would pass my msg onto management. I’ve heard nothing back?!?
Parts were good…
The room isn’t on the main site… you walk down the road away from the crazy bear, around the corner, down the lane, into a small residual cluster of houses (over some gravel - great for dragged a suitcase). You have a room in a big standard dull building. Feels like a HMO to be honest…
Qwerky. Staff were lovely and very attentive.
The bathroom smelt strange 🤢
the rooms were very different, it was certainly a talking point. was nice to have robes in the room also
the bed were very uncomfortable. the room was dark like a dungeon. the window in the room didn't close and we were woken up first thing as we could hear people in the court yard. the blind was broken for the window so the light came in at the crack of dawn. there was an extension lead in there and loads of wires about but not enough plugs close to the bed. the dinner the night before was awful, ended up paying £50 for 2 people to have a 'finger buffet' and all we got was 1 chicken wing each and a couple of spring rolls and samosa
Quirky and spotless. Staff were great and attentive. Food is incredible.
It was very quirky
We paid a high amount for a two night stay and was in a room which wasn’t very big and was lacking facilities that you would expect in a hotel room.
Quirkiness
Price of rooms should include breakfast
Nice location for my niece wedding along the road. Very nice and comfortable, clean and tidy all
Very quirky.
The food at the wedding was different compared to what was ordered and may need a little update in the rooms. But very nice and quirky as expected. Staff friendly and helpful. The food came out very slow for the wedding food as some people had eaten food when a table had not even got their food.
Food drink and staff were great
The rooms were over priced and no breakfast including so it’s never been a 5 star hotel
Beautiful hotel. Amazing rooms. The Thai restaurant was beautiful and amazing service.
The bed in the room was very hard but I know some would prefer that.
The reception was amazing and the lady (sorry forgot her name) petite blonde lady is an absolute credit to the business.
The hard bed.
Most of it
Nothing really
Liked the outside space it was amazing.
We didn’t like the price of the drinks. My main meal shin of beef didn’t include potatoes! They cost an extra £6 +12.5% which I felt was over the top. Breakfast wasn’t included in the price which I didn’t feel was fair.A sausage bap at 11.20 and cup of tea at 6.20was a joke .I ordered a glass of wine from the menu which was £7 only to be told they don’t sell that any more and was sold an equivalent glass of Chardonnay £17!!!!!Rip off.
