Pros:

Śniadania znakomite

Cons:

Good Stay, but Don't Expect 5-Star Luxury
Pros:

On its surface, it is a beautiful, old-world, grand hotel... and the location is unbeatable! However, as some other reviewers have noted, it is just a veneer. The rooms are old, the furniture is even older, and while the breakfast room is staffed mostly by young folks, the service is not super polished for a presumed 5-star hotel.... The food selection is also far from what you'd find at a luxury hotel. Overall, it was a totally fine, good stay, but far from a 5-star experience.

Pros:

This Hotel is just awful 2
Cons:

An Unexpected European Treasure – A Memorable Stay at the Hilton Curio Collection Vilnius
Pros:

One of my personal travel goals has been to visit as many European countries as possible, and Vilnius, Lithuania, had long been on my list. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but it ended up being one of the biggest surprises of my travels. Vilnius is a truly beautiful city—rich in history, filled with remarkable architecture and overflowing with charm. It is one of those destinations that quietly exceeds every expectation and leaves you wondering why more people aren’t talking about it.

As someone who loves architecture, I found the city fascinating. Walking through Vilnius is like travelling through different eras of European history. The magnificent Baroque churches, grand neoclassical buildings, cobbled streets and hidden courtyards sit alongside reminders of Lithuania’s Soviet past, creating a city with incredible character and depth. Every corner seemed to reveal another beautiful building or picturesque square waiting to be explored.

For my stay, I chose the Hilton Curio Collection Vilnius, and it proved to be the perfect place to experience the city.

From the moment I arrived, the welcome was exceptional. I was greeted warmly and offered a complimentary glass of Champagne during check-in—a thoughtful touch that immediately made the experience feel special and set the tone for a luxurious stay.

The hotel itself is elegant, stylish and full of personality. Rather than feeling like a standard chain hotel, it has its own unique character while maintaining the high standards you would expect from Hilton’s Curio Collection. My room was wonderfully spacious, beautifully designed and blended contemporary luxury with subtle classical influences. It was incredibly comfortable and felt like a peaceful retreat after a day spent exploring the city.

Dining at the hotel was another highlight. The casual restaurant served excellent comfort food, including fantastic gourmet burgers and classic dishes, perfect for a relaxed evening. On my second night, I had the opportunity to dine in the hotel’s Michelin-recognised restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. The menu celebrated Lithuanian flavours using fresh local ingredients, presented with creativity and precision. Every course was beautifully prepared, and it was one of the finest meals of my entire trip.

Breakfast each morning was equally impressive. Alongside an extensive buffet, there was an excellent à la carte menu. I ordered the Eggs Florentine, which were cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail were outstanding. There was even Prosecco available for breakfast for those wanting to start the day with a little indulgence.

One of the hotel’s biggest advantages is its location. It is ideally positioned for exploring Vilnius, with many of the city’s historic landmarks, cafés and charming streets within easy walking distance. To see even more of the city, I hired one of the electric rental scooters, which are available throughout Vilnius. They were incredibly easy to use and a brilliant way to cover more ground while enjoying the city’s parks, riverside paths and stunning Old Town. I would highly recommend them to anyone visiting.

What really made this hotel stand out, however, was the exceptional service. Every member of staff I met was genuinely welcoming, attentive and professional. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and everyone seemed genuinely passionate about ensuring guests had a memorable stay.

Looking back, Vilnius became one of the unexpected highlights of my European travels. It is a city that combines fascinating history, stunning architecture and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, and staying at the Hilton Curio Collection elevated the entire experience.

If you’re planning a trip to Lithuania, I cannot recommend both Vilnius and the Hilton Curio Collection highly enough. Together, they offer the perfect combination of culture, luxury and genuine hospitality. I left already hoping that one day I’ll return to spend even more time discovering this remarkable city.
