Mecure Kings Hotel Darlington
Pros:

Clean comfortable bed and ideal location for my requirements. The reception staff were available on arrival and departure.

Cons:

There was no body wash in the shower so I was unable to freshen up after our night out. The layout of the hotel was confusing, being in room 335 required us to change lifts on different floors encountering individuals who were lost between floors.

A tired and dated hotel with unfriendly staff, but in a good location
Pros:

The property was in an ideal location for the event I was attending during my stay and located a couple of minute walk from the main town centre.

Cons:

On entering the hotel, the staff were unwelcoming and enthusiastic. On Accor app and in the hotel policies that park is £5 however on arrival we found out that parking was £8.50 per day. The rooms appeared to be dated and in need of refurbishment as the carpet to Buck in and the wallpaper is coming off walls. The water pressure in the shower in my room was non-existent, resulting in not being able to take a shower for the whole of my stay. There was blood in the lift on arrival was reported to management but was still there eight hours later. Considering the breakfast were almost £14, I would say that the quality and choice was not £14 worthy, the coffee machine was broken so only dispensed Americanos. The whole hotel seemed dated and worn out and is in desperate needs to be refurbishment. Having stayed in many Accor group hotels in the past this hotel definitely does not live up to the standard of the Accor group

Breakfast was really good but the rest of our stay was not an enjoyable experience. I did ask if it was wheelchair frien
Pros:

The bathroom was very big and well set up with bath and shower. This was good for my husband.

Cons:

I struggled to get to our room and back due to being on the 3rd floor and being a wheelchair user. There were lifts but we had to use 2 different ones to get to our floor and the corridors were a bit confusing between lifts. In our room I couldn’t get past the end of the bed in my wheelchair so had to be assisted to the main part of the room and assisted to the bathroom. The sash window had bolts to keep it open but they didn’t fit into the holes so it couldn’t be left open. I couldn’t use the shower as I am unable to get into a bath and stand to shower, my shower chair wouldn’t fit.

Easy, straightforward and no hassle
Pros:

Easy to get too, helpful and friendly staff. Wide range of choices for breakfast

Cons:

Not many parking spaces and they are very tight. Unable to prebook parking. There was a multi storey further up the road though. A bit confusing to find the 4th floor as needed to use 2 separate lifts or staircases but fine once I’d done it a couple of times.

Good price but you get what you pay for
Pros:

Comfortable bed, good breakfast,
Quiet room
Pleasant staff

Cons:

Location - access through a back street
Distance to room via passages and 2 lifts .
No daily service for room
No restaurant service in evening
Ber food not good
Broken kettle attended to but 2 other specific requests about the room were not.
£50 deposit required for possible damages tells it all I think.

It’s fine and I’d stay again
Pros:

Its proximity to the main station. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable

Cons:

It’s quite a maze with my room accessible not by one lift but two which meant for a time consuming trek back when I found I’d forgotten the plug to my phone
