We have stayed at several small luxury boutique hotels and this property really exceeded our expectations. The staff were so kind and helpful at every turn. The property is stunning, and our room was incredibly comfortable. I would highly recommend this stay for your visit to Cartagena!

Excellent experience. The hotel is beautiful and well situated inside the old walled city. The staff are friendly and welcoming, doing everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. They are quite helpful in arranging transportation and excursions. The day trip to Acasi is well worth it. We did the private boat option with a tour around the islands and it was amazing. The included breakfast is amazing. Our son still asks for the arepa de huevo. Highly recommended.

From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The location is simply perfect, right in the beautiful historic centre. The decoration is elegant, authentic, and full of charm, creating a unique atmosphere throughout the hotel.
The comfort of the bed deserves a special mention : it was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in!
What made my stay truly unforgettable, however, was the incredible staff. Every single person was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. A very special thank you to Estefany, who was an absolute angel throughout my stay. Her kindness, professionalism, and beautiful smile made me feel truly at home.

My husband and I spent two nights at Casa San Agustin and we would, without a doubt, recommend this hotel to anyone hoping to spend some magical days and evenings in Cartagena's stunning old city. Everything about the hotel was magical from the building itself, to the stunning spacious rooms, the beautiful and delicious restraurant where we ate breakfast both days. The staff was also so accomodating and lovely. Everyone was wonderful from the front desk (Katherine) to Diojelin, Juana, Katia, Liliana, Stefani, Jamie and Yeim. Thank you for this memorable experience. It was magic.

“Wow”, is my one word to describe our experience… beautiful hotel with impeccable service! Estefanny and Jorge really stood out and really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and to feel extra special. Alma restaurant for breakfast and Dinner was exquisite! Try their mojitos! Best I ever had and I am Cuban!

Almost forgot to mention the beds! You will never want to get out of them… the best!! Just a seamless experience and highly, highly recommended. Cant wait to come back to Cartagena and to Casa San Agustin!

I can't say enough about my current experience here. From the email I received prior to arriving to coordinate my airport shuttle to arriving with a sign and friendly hostess escorting us to a clean roomy car, my experience began there. Upon arriving and crossing the threshold we were fussed over by Yanelis and Alexandra who truly greeted us and asked if we needed anything before getting our documents to check us in. We were greeted with the most refreshing beverage and quickly undressed in pool attire to take advantage of our first day. Yanelis took care of my entire itinerary at check in with all my desired bookings for my stay to included spa spots private car, boat ride to private beach club, looking for medicine for me you name it the experience here is what a fine hotel and resort on AMEX should be. The room!!! It was immaculate on it lines of a Peninsula hotel (my best in class) the entire boutique property is pristine. Staff in hotel all friendly and plenty od staff to support the hotel. I look forward to my next 3 nights.

Beautiful property and attentive staff in Cartagena Centro. The location is central to everything. The room was large, the pool inviting and the restaurant scrumptious. I would like to particularly compliment the exceptional bar staff, particularly Amanda. We needed some extra help during a medical emergency and the staff was most attentive and helpful. We’re very grateful for their assistance. The concierge also arranged any drivers and tours for us as needed. The entire stay here was wonderful.

I've stayed at many luxury hotels over the years, and Casa San Agustín is easily one of the finest experiences I've ever had.

The experience begins well before you arrive. Airport transportation was arranged flawlessly, making our arrival in Cartagena completely stress-free. As soon as we stepped into the hotel, we were welcomed with warm smiles, refreshing spritzes, and one of the most incredible signature scents I've ever experienced. It instantly creates a sense of calm and relaxation. I loved it so much that I purchased the fragrance from the spa to use in our home, and I'm excited to have something that reminds me of our stay every time I smell it.

While the hotel itself is beautiful, it's the people who make Casa San Agustín truly exceptional.

Estefany was phenomenal from beginning to end, helping us organize restaurant reservations, transportation, and activities while patiently accommodating changes to our plans. Every recommendation she made was excellent, and we quickly realized we could trust her suggestions completely.

We were celebrating my partner's birthday, and the team surprised us with balloons, fresh fruit, and a handwritten note waiting in our room. It was thoughtful, elegant, and perfectly representative of the personalized service we experienced throughout our stay.

Dagmar, David, Katherine, Eduardo, and the restaurant team were consistently warm, professional, and genuinely invested in making our trip memorable. One moment that particularly stood out was when Eduardo personally helped us exchange U.S. dollars after we had trouble finding cash. It was completely unexpected and a wonderful example of the level of care the staff provides.

One of the highlights of our trip was spending a day at ACASÍ, the hotel's private beach experience. Everything was beautifully organized, Jorge took outstanding care of us, and it ended up being one of our favorite days in Cartagena.

We also appreciated having access to the fitness center at Casa Pestagua, the sister property just a short walk away. It was a convenient amenity that made it easy to stay active while enjoying our vacation.

What impressed me most wasn't any single luxury amenity—it was how effortlessly the team made every part of our stay feel personal. Every recommendation was spot-on, every interaction felt sincere, and every detail was handled with care.

Casa San Agustín strikes the perfect balance between intimate luxury, authentic Colombian hospitality, and impeccable service. It isn't simply a beautiful hotel; it's the kind of place that becomes part of the memories you make while traveling.

I chose Casa San Agustín for a birthday trip to Cartagena, and the experience exceeded every expectation. What distinguished the hotel was not simply its beauty, but the extraordinary consistency of the service and the genuine care shown by the entire team.

The experience began well before our arrival. Estefany patiently assisted us with restaurant reservations, transportation, and the planning of several activities. We made changes throughout the process, asked for recommendations, and adjusted our itinerary as the trip evolved. She remained responsive, gracious, and committed to helping us make the most of every day.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a refreshing spritz that was so delicious we continued enjoying it throughout our stay. Our room had been prepared with a beautiful fruit presentation, birthday balloons, and a handwritten note from the staff. These touches were elegant and thoughtful without ever feeling impersonal or overly staged.

Katherine welcomed us with exceptional warmth that first morning and continued to take fabulous care of us. The breakfast team was equally impressive: polished, attentive, cordial, and consistently professional. Dagmar and David were also wonderful and made sure we always felt supported during our stay.

Eduardo deserves special recognition. During a particularly stressful moment when I was unable to figure out how to obtain cash, he personally stepped in and helped me exchange the dollars I had with me. It was an incredibly generous gesture and a perfect example of hospitality that goes far beyond standard service.

Our private island experience at ACASÍ was another highlight. Jorge took excellent care of us and made the entire day feel effortless and personal. For anyone visiting Cartagena, I would sincerely recommend allowing the Casa San Agustín team to help curate the experience. They listen carefully, understand the kind of trip you are trying to create, and provide recommendations that genuinely suit you rather than simply directing you toward the most obvious options.

I have traveled extensively and work in the hospitality industry, so I pay close attention to service, presentation, and operational detail. Casa San Agustín demonstrated an exceptional level of professionalism while still feeling warm, intimate, and human.

My deepest thanks to Dagmar, Eduardo, David, Katherine, Estefany, Jorge, and the entire team. You treated my birthday celebration with the utmost care and made our time in Cartagena truly wonderful.

Casa San Augustin consistently appears at the top of the list of hotels in which to stay in Cartagena's (Colombia) Walled City and it did not disappoint.

My partner and sought a not-too-distant escape from the US' 250th independence day holiday and settled on Cartagena for its mix of largely intact Spanish colonial architecture and its place in the historical record of new world colonialism.

What stands out most from our 5 night stay is the friendliness and competence of the entire staff including Katherine, Andrew, Kevin, Emerson, Lizardo, Diemer, Estefanny, Jaime, Paola, Amanda, and Dagmar. I've probably missed a few names, and apologies to those I did not recall.

Secondly, Alma, the hotel's main restaurant Alma and its bar both offer excellent food and beverages at all times of day. Do not miss the flavorful breakfasts, particularly the bevy of seasonal tropical fruits which I rarely find in my homes of New York City, NY and Hudson, NY.

Our Deluxe room was comfortable and enough space for a couple. Be sure to visit the pool at nearby sister hotel Casa Pestagua for an alternative to the pool at San Augustin. Sister property Acasi in Baru is a pleasant day trip but it was a bit too rustic for our taste considering the service we became accustomed to at the hotel. Acasi's Luis and Jorge's warmth matched that of their colleagues at San Augustin.

If I had to nit-pick it would be that the bathroom was too humid such that my towels never dried sufficiently for their next use.

The staff made the property (which has an absolutely magical pool and outdoor area) and stay MAGICAL!!!

Highly recommended as of July 2026.
