This place has unbelievably good service. Paolo, the concierge is very friendly and helpful. In the restaurant, they remembered the type of coffee we like for breakfast. When I returned from a run in the 85 degree heat they brought out a tray with a face cloth and poured scented ice water over it for me, and gave me a bottle of cold water. Quite a decadent surprise! They have a pillow menu. The place really pays attention to details.

Our stay in Casa San Agustin was amazing. The service was top class, comparable to the best hotels in the world. From the people at the concierge such as Yanelis and the whole staff, to the people in the restaurant like Miguel which served us lunch, they were very hospitable, nice, and welcoming. The hotel's food, rooms, and location were also 10/10. I hope to stay there again.

Possibly the best hotel I have ever experienced. The hotel is gorgeous. The Alma restaurant is fabulous. But it is the staff that puts this hotel over the top. Friendly, efficient and sincere.

There are certain hotels that feel like destinations in their own right, and Hotel Casa San Agustín is undoubtedly one of them. The property’s rich history is woven into every detail, from its uniquely designed rooms to the maze-like layout that invites you to wander and discover something beautiful around every corner. The courtyard and pool area alone are breathtaking.

The culinary experience is equally exceptional. Breakfast, included with the stay, is truly outstanding, and the coconut dessert at dinner is not to be missed. Two experiences stand out as absolute musts: the spa, where I had one of the best massages of my life, and the opportunity to spend time at the Acasí property. Having what felt like a private beach for 24 hours was nothing short of magical.

What truly elevates this hotel, however, are the thoughtful touches and the people. From nightly homemade treats and rotating breads at breakfast to small gestures like shopping cards, every detail feels intentional. The front desk team, Andrew, Yanelis, Katherine, and Jaime, were consistently attentive and welcoming. A particularly special thank you goes to Yeinty, who took care of us each morning at breakfast. Her warmth made us feel less like guests and more like friends.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff is exceptional, the rooms very large, especially by Cartagena standards, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The welcome drink was delicious as well! The scent that they use in the rooms is particularly tasteful as well.

We stayed in the Prestige suite which was very nice. Everyone was very nice from concierge, front desk to bell boys!! We had asked our laundry to be done. They made sure that to get to a place that is very affordable and made the process so nice and simple. Breakfast was delicious daily. They accomadated us with our vegetarian diets very well. It is a small boutique hotel with fantastic location and great staff!!

Hotel Casa San Agustín is the perfect couples’ getaway at the best location at Cartagena’s old town. The building is a beautiful colonial house with all the amenities and attentive and personalized service of a top hotel. The food was creative and perfectly represents Cartagena and Colombian’s culture. If you are looking for a romantic experience in a charming and historic city, this is the place!

This property is ideally located in the heart of the walled city, so it's a great base to explore the city. Once you enter the gates, it's a quiet, comfortable refuge from the busy streets of the Old Town. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. Although the rooms are decorated in a colonial style, every modern convenience is included. The service is among the best I've encountered anywhere in the world. The entire staff is genuinely excited to host you. Amanda, one of the bartenders is an example of this. She took great pride in hosting us and sharing her knowledge of Colombia and the locally produced spirits. We had a very enjoyable stay and will be back again...this was our second stay at this property.

Front Desk:

Andrew at the front desk is incredibly helpful and informative! He helped us organize an amazing boat day to the Rosario Islands.

Room:

We had a room with private plunge pool. The room was small but lovely. We slept very well. The private pool was nice to come back to each day although there is no real sun there to experience due to the high walls.

Food:

The food at the Alma restaurant on site is fair but the drinks and bartenders are exceptional. The breakfast food is far better than the meals at dinner.

We loved the restaurant Mar y Zielo. Cande was so fun! Great music, dancers and awesome food.

Don Diablo/Carmen restaurant was fair. Not as good as Carmen Medellin.

The restaurant at their sister hotel was great for lunch!

Location:

The location in the center of the walled city is perfect. We did both suggested walks early in the day before the heat took hold. They offer bikes but we did not take advantage. The pool area is small.

The area around the hotel has great shops and is very safe.

Note that you may be offered cocaine by a variety of code names many times by people on the street.

Luxury bottled up in a beautiful hotel experience in the middle of the cultural epicenter of Cartagena. The artistic design of the common spaces and rooms were stunning, and worth every penny. There was not one detail excluded from this experience and the service anticipated every need and want we had. We travel a lot and this hotel tops our list for the perfect mix of luxury and culture.

Shoutout to the amazing staff: Andrew, Jamie, Camarerce, Paola, Stefani, Katherine, Nelson, Tomas, Dagmor, Diocelin, Mileiolis, Lenin, Yanelis. I’m sure we’re missing some names but the staff was one team and everyone made our experience so special.

10 Star service!!!!! The concierge team Yanelis, Katherine, Paola and Andrew were Amazing. They made my friends and I feel like VIPs without fail.
They were accommodating of our endless requests for places to go, reservations, and pivoting plans as we learned that in Colombia 🇨🇴 you need to take your time and enjoy the moments in front of you.
I will most definitely stay here again🫶
