I don't think that the price of £129 for one night was good value for money.
Pros:

The bed was very comfortable and the en suite was very nice, it looked like it had recently decorated.

Cons:

The room was right opposite a working building which i had to have the curtains closed all the time for privacy. The room was also next to a road which meant it was quite noisy. I arrived at about 1.30pm and was told straight out that 3pm was check in time. He didn't check to see if the room was available or not just a straight 3pm only answer. I also felt that at 3pm when i asked to go to my room that it was too much trouble for the staff to take me. I also think that the price of £129 was way too much for what was offered.

Pros:

The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive and genuinely interested in making our stay worthwhile. They came to our rescue without the slightest trace of a midnight grudge when we managed to make a bit of a mess of the key-based check-in, and throughout our stay they were approachable, helpful and keen to hear what we thought. The room was beautifully furnished, very clean and clearly prepared with care. Everything about the stay felt naturally generous, without being ostentatious: from the furnishings to the wonderful selection of teas and coffees provided for breakfast. It was somewhat more expensive than some of our other accommodations, but we did not regret it for a moment! Above all, there was a real sense of genuine hospitality throughout, and we felt very well looked after. We would therefore be very happy to recommend the Red Lion.

We left and got another hotel and still waiting for a refund
Pros:

Would have loved a meal there but the kitchen was closed for refurbishment but we were not advised until check it.

Cons:

Old tatty dated musty room. The kitchen was also closed so not what is advertised on Booking.com

Nada en especial

Cons:

Muy viejo, el acceso nocturno es muy tenebroso y al tener ventanas viejas de madera que no cerraban era muy muy ruidoso al estar justo delante de la calle principal del pueblo por donde pasaban todos los coches y camiones de madrugada, lo que te impide descansar por completo.
Para colmo, unos obreros que estaban reformando la habitación de al lado haciendo mucho ruido con sus taladros, llamaron temprano a nuestra puerta para ver si podian entrar en nuestra habitación para continuar la reforma.
No volveria a alojarme allí.

If you are looking for a short, no-frills stay in the heart of Bakewell, the Red Lion works!
Pros:

Location was great, right in the heart of Bakewell. Staff were very friendly. Convenient check-out process (key drop-box and exit through the fire escape as the pub was closed - this was a bit quirky and wouldn't suit anyone with any mobility issues)

Cons:

No breakfast option other than some porridge pots and biscuits in the room (although we did find a few spots around the town to have breakfast). Fine if you're only here for one or two nights but if you're staying longer it could get expensive!! Having to use the back fire escape to get back in in the evening as the pub closed around 10pm. The road was very noisy from very early in the morning, however this isn't a failing of the property and the age of the pub I guess meant no double glazing)
