Pros:

A wonderful experience. Other reviews mentioned that they don't speak English, this could not be further from the truth. Every staff member, reception, concierge, waiters, everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming and spoke great English. Room was a good size, the air conditioning worked well. They will order a Yango for you if you cannot get a local sim. They can also organize local tours. There is a lot to see so don't miss it. Also one of the largest hotel pools, and a great Sunday brunch. They also lent an umbrella for my stay due to the occasional rain showers. Others have commented breakfast says it starts at 6:30 but they are still putting food out at 7:30. This is true, so go a little later or request it in your room (same price). Food was great, I ate at every restaurant.

Décevant à l’accueil et le délai d’attente

Cons:

La qualité de l’accueil à la réception a malheureusement été très décevante. Je suis arrivé à 18 h 00 et je n’ai pu récupérer ma chambre qu’à 21 h 00.

Au-delà de ce délai d’attente particulièrement long, l’attitude de la personne à l’accueil était inadaptée. Son comportement était très en retrait et son ton parfois inacceptable. Je me suis véritablement senti comme si je n’étais pas le bienvenu.

Pour un établissement cinq étoiles, je pense qu’une attention particulière devrait être portée au recrutement des collaborateurs en première ligne, qui représentent l’image de votre hôtel, ainsi qu’à leur formation en matière d’accueil et de relation client.

Mis à part cet épisode regrettable, je n’ai rien d’autre à signaler et le reste de mon séjour s’est déroulé de manière satisfaisante.

Old hotel, no quiet rooms, no value for money
Pros:

Only convenience of this hotel is the NAME and PRESTIGE.
But there is
NO quality (old hotel impossible to renovate),
NO quiet rooms (thin windows, events in gardens until 02:00 AM !!! or music coming from KARAOKE bar on the city side) ;
NO value for moyen (prices are the most expensive of the Country)

Je n’ai pas aimé qu’on me loge dans une aile de l’hôtel disons qui était sale et pas au niveau d’un Sofitel lorsqu’on paie 1558€ pour 6 nuits la propriété et le service doivent être au niveau d’un Sofitel, hors je me suis retrouvé dans une chambre avec des nuisibles ! En plus aillant payé mon séjour directement et n’aillant souhaité laisser d’empreinte bancaire le personnel n’a pas fait preuve de tact en voulant m’imposer de régler toutes dépenses à chaque fois alors ça aurait été plus judicieux de me faire une note au check out ! Pour finir le ménage j’ai dû me plaindre pour qu’ils le fassent au quotidien ! Je me suis tué à leur expliquer que lorsqu’on fait le choix de venir au Sofitel c’est parce qu’on attend un niveau de service et propreté et la pour moi l’expérience à négative

Unclean and elevator disruptions.
Pros:

Great location.

Cons:

First room was extremely dirty - visible grey dust on the carpet around the bed and windows. The shower also did not drain. Staff did relocate me immediately after my compliant.

The phone in the room did not work.

Works on elevators occurred at multiple points throughout the day without any heads up to guests, meaning you were either stuck on your floor or in search of the service elevator.

Relaxing and pleasant experience
Pros:

Had a really relaxing experience. The environment was calm and clean, and the staff was welcoming and professional. I enjoyed my time and would definitely come back. I was warmly welcomed by Aminata, and Stéphie took great care of me throughout the experience.
