This was a clean nice hotel. Being on the south side, i didnt have high expectations, but things were very nice. I wish they would have cleaned our room in the middle of our two night stay, but that is okau
The location of the hotel was decent. We were able to walk to various restaurants. The cleanliness of the room was lacking and the so-called pillows they provided for our king bed were almost laughable. They weren't even pillows. I don't know what the little squares were stuffed with but they were hard as rocks and very uncomfortable. There were coffee stains on the walls that could have easily been wiped clean and the shower was full of soap scum. website stated that 2 free bottles of water would be provided daily but while we were there and asked for them, we were told by a very rude woman that they were for the more privileged guests. So what's the point of having a Hyatt membership? The walls and ceilings must not have been well insulated because we could hear everything. The guests above us must have had young children because the only thing we could hear was jumping and banging. Thankfully we brought a noise machine to help us sleep or we would have been up all night. I will say that the wedding we attended at the hotel was beautiful.
My fourth experience at this hotel, and it was the same. Did not get offered an upgrade on the room, but I was only there for one night so I survived. Check in was fast and smooth, but the elevator in the lobby was broken so I had to move my car closer to the other elevator in the parking garage to bring everything up.
Breakfast was totally unsatisfactory. I've stayed a total of 60 nights in the hotel in the past and that was the worst I've seen, I was not able to eat anything as it did not make me want to eat.
The gym has had a total upgrade, which I have included pictures.
This hotel is next other American Eagle Outfitters HQ as well as the Steeler's training facility so there were plenty of models and players to see. I consider this to be the best location in Pittsburgh as you have a Hobfrauhaus next door and Cheesecake Factory across the street and an Aldi's one block away as well for the longer stays.
My favorite hotel in Pittsburgh but I was truly disappointed at breakfast. The bartender was great and the bar is very nice. Staff was awesome, and I will stay there in future, I just hope the breakfast gets fixed.
Illegal drugs and alcohol left in our room, discovered by a visiting child. Terrible customer service from the front desk supervisor, awful night of music played too loud from a wedding. No parking last night. Brought to the attention upon check out, nice representative said she was going to leave our bill open and they were goin to adjust accordingly. Not done
Amazing service can't wait to come back
Easily the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The hotel doubles as a wedding venue where the DJ’s music vibrated our room until well past sunset. I have never been in such a loud and noisy hotel. Furthermore, the staff insists that they told you about this. (Spoiler: they didn’t. They will point at a sign at the check-in desk that says the terrace is closed and music will play—not a sign that says you are paying to sleep at a night club.) Rude staff is one thing; combative staff is another. This hotel’s staff is the latter.
Also, would you like housekeeping services? Too bad. You have to ask them for it (but that’s a secret, too—no indication that it’s a request-only service.) Room was dirty upon check-in, too: the false nail in the nightstand was a gross touch.
Lovely view, nice shower, good tv, decent kitchenette, okay bed, and crumbs around the mattress and in the sofa.
Overall, Hyatt should be embarrassed that they charge guests money to stay in this hotel during weddings. Time for a staffing change and soundproofing/requirements for full buyouts during weddings. Hard pass.
Location
Quilt was not good.
The room was wide and bathroom was nice. Hotel position very good, close to the river trail and to many restaurants. Gym was very nice and clean.
Breakfast was really poor for the price payd. No fruits, no sweets, poor hot meal choice (bacon available once in 3 days). Room cleaning was done very roughly (still have some little pieces of paper on the ground). Had an issue with the toilet flushing and called the reception twice starting from 6 pm. Came back from dinner at 10 pm and fixed myself.
Fantastic, roomy bath; double room was also quite spacious.
Breakfast not at the level of the accommodations. How about some sliced fruit? How about something with whole grains? How about some plain yogurt (instead of the oversweetened vanilla kind) to have with the sliced fruit?
