Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou

Beautiful room and such an amazing welcome for my sons, one of whom was celebrating his 18th birthday and the other his admission to medical school. They surprised them with a delicious chocolate cake and a touching congratulatory card, personally delivered to our room by the hotel staff.

The hotel has a beautiful restaurant where breakfast is also served. Even though we arrived late in the evening, we were warmly welcomed, served, and made to feel at home.

At the restaurant, a gentleman who I believe was the restaurant manager helped us learn as many details as possible about the place and made sure that we felt comfortable and well taken care of.

Exceptional hospitality and attention to detail.
We had visited to celebrate my husband's birthday. An email in advance was all it took to coordinate a great celebration. They went beyond to decorate the room and provide us with a cake.
The loft bar with Mira really made it special with drinks, and the couple massage with Joyce and Lily was relaxing and professional.
All the staff were very hospitable and we'd glady return again to this beautiful hotel. The mall was also accessible via hotel which was convenient.

Quiet, peaceful, and genuinely beautiful. The atmosphere was so serene that I almost felt reluctant to disturb it. I had originally thought about ordering Korean food delivery, but decided against it — and that turned out to be the right choice. There was something about the calmness of the hotel that deserved to be left untouched, like quietly appreciating the simple innocence of young love without interrupting it.

The service and thoughtful details throughout the hotel were exceptionally warm and considered. The scent, lighting, and overall ambience were all perfectly judged, and I honestly cannot remember the last time I slept so peacefully.

Personally, I also found the design surprisingly stylish. Even though I was in a hurry, I still spent quite a while exploring the room when I first arrived. I know some online reviews describe the style as rather old-fashioned, but I did not feel that way at all.

A practical tip: if you love desserts or are interested in bakery and pastry, go to breakfast early. I arrived quite late, and by then many of the baked goods and pastries were already gone.

The room design and decorative details became more impressive the longer I stayed. In fact, I only fully understood the intention behind some of the lighting and object placement after waking up the next morning. Looking back at my photos, several design choices suddenly made perfect sense.

The service was genuinely excellent as well — a truly well-rounded experience with almost no weak points. I was also given a complimentary room upgrade, which made an already wonderful stay even better.

My only regret is that I did not take enough photos. I somehow missed the Aesop hand wash in the lobby, as well as the delicious macarons the hotel gave me.

Overall, it was a nearly perfect stay from beginning to end. I am already looking for a day with good weather to return.

We had a wonderful stay at the Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou for a romantic getaway to celebrate my husband's birthday.

The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable, with thoughtful touches like a luxurious bathrobe and excellent in-room amenities.

The food was outstanding - from the breakfast buffet to lunch at Tang. The Peking duck was especially memorable.

We also enjoyed the infinity pool, which was a lovely place to relax.

A special thank you to the Assistant Chief Concierge, who went above and beyond to help recover my phone after I accidentally left it in a taxi. I’m incredibly grateful for his dedication and exceptional service.

Thank you to the entire team for making our celebration so special. We look forward to returning.

I stayed at the mandaarin for 14 nights in June 2026! Th service was incredible- Steven Diep , the assistant manager went above and beyond! From constantly checking via whats app, to helping co-ordinate travel arrangements- he was truly the cherry on top of an already comfortable stay!

Best hotel service. Truly MO, a class above. Everything is fantastic from pre check in where requests are answered, room, shower pressure to breakfast, dining, facilities, amenities etc. Housekeeping is so thoughtful to provide adhesives for my cables and every detail is looked into. Kris Lin at front desk is exceptional from my check in to check out. MO Guangzhou is also near taikoo hui and parc central while being exclusive, a really wonderful stay.

I want to make a specific post about an amazing host at the Manadrin Oriental Club Lounge. Sylvia has been absolutely wonderful to us every day we attend, she has an eye for detail, makes an amazing cocktail and is so sweet and friendly. I’ve never singled out a specific person in a hotel before, but Silvia is the reason I would come back to this hotel and rebook a club room again, just to experience her service one more time. Thanks Silvia for making my honeymoon so special. A
