Convenient and cozy hotel with all you need.
Pros:

The River Island Hotel is really fab, very easy to get into. Parking is not provided, but there are plenty of parking spaces nearby, and a public parking lot is also very close, which I used. The hotel was nice, rooms reasonably spacious and beds comfortable. restaurant and bar provided all you needed if you did not want to go out. Staff were very friendly, smiling, and professional.

Cons:

Only one thing I can say I did not like, and this is not the hotel's fault, but it did spoil my stay a bit. The room faced a side with pubs. It was Saturday night, there was a music session, and it was very loud. I am a light sleeper, and it kept me awake until early in the morning. I forgot to bring earplugs, which would have solved the problem.

Nobler Charme mit viel Persönlichkeit
Pros:

Mir hat der alte, noble Charme des River Island Hotels ausgesprochen gut gefallen. Schon der Eingangsbereich ist beeindruckend – großzügig, elegant und beinahe ein wenig feudal. Man betritt das Hotel und spürt sofort, dass dieses Haus eine Geschichte hat.

Natürlich sind auch die Zimmer sichtbar in die Jahre gekommen. Aber gerade das hatte für mich durchaus seinen Reiz – und sogar einen ganz praktischen Vorteil: Zu der Zeit, als diese Zimmer eingerichtet wurden, legte man offenbar noch großen Wert auf ausreichend Schränke, Ablagen und Stauraum. Gerade bei einem längeren Aufenthalt habe ich das sehr genossen.

Die Betten waren ausgesprochen bequem, und auch die Badewanne im Zimmer war für mich ein Pluspunkt. Der Zimmerservice arbeitete sehr zuverlässig und sorgte dafür, dass wir uns während unseres Aufenthaltes rundum wohlfühlen konnten.

Besonders hervorheben möchte ich jedoch das Personal. Alle Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter, denen wir begegnet sind, waren durchgehend freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Dabei wirkte die Freundlichkeit nie nur professionell oder einstudiert. Vielmehr hatte man das Gefühl, hier wirklich menschlich zugewandten und ausgesprochen zuvorkommenden Menschen zu begegnen.

Wer ausschließlich moderne, durchgestylte Hotelzimmer sucht, wird vielleicht manches als etwas überholt empfinden. Wer dagegen Hotels mit Charakter, Geschichte und einem Hauch vergangener Eleganz mag, kann sich im River Island Hotel sehr wohlfühlen.

Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist, dass die Parkplatzsituation im Umfeld des Hotels sehr unkompliziert ist.

Cons:

Das Frühstück war für meinen Geschmack etwas einfallslos und bot im Wesentlichen das typische irische Standardangebot. Hier hätte ich mir etwas mehr Abwechslung und vielleicht auch ein paar frischere, leichtere Alternativen gewünscht. Die Rühreier waren leider an manchen Tagen sehr weich und für meinen Geschmack etwas zu „wabbelig“. Insgesamt war das Frühstück in Ordnung, konnte aber mit dem ansonsten sehr positiven Eindruck des Hotels nicht ganz mithalten.

A notre arrivée l’hôtesse nous donne les cartes pour ouvrir la porte de chambre mais celle-ci ne fonctionnent pas ,elle fait le nécessaire immédiatement mais voila vers 23h30 on triture la serrure de notre chambre et deux personnes et le veilleur de nuit font intrusion dans notre chambre c’est irréel !!! N’importe qui rentre dans la chambre de cette hôtel ,le lendemain pas d’excuses et le personnel n’en parle même pas !à vous de juger de cet incident !

Gutes Hotel in der Nähe des Ring of Kerry.
Pros:

Auch kurzfristig ein bezahlbares, ordentliches Hotelzimmer in Kerry zu finden, war ein echter Glücksfall! Liegt etwas außerhalb der Haupt Touristenströme. Sehr freundliches Personal und gute Betten.

Cons:

Das Frühstücksbuffet war etwas mager. Vielleicht, weil vor uns eine Busgruppe eingefallen war.

Inside the hotel was nice. Wood stairway. Pretty bar. Staff was very friendly and nice

Cons:

The bathtub was dirty and we didn’t use it. This was a problem. I didn’t realize until we went to take a shower before bed so couldn’t ask to switch. That was not good.
