Really old, not well kept house, barely functional
Pros:

The location is great. The staff is nice.

Cons:

The shower was broken. This is an old house, with tape to me the ceiling. There are 5 levels of stairs, the mattresses and facilities in general were old. The window did not open. It was really shitty honestly. I expected it to be bad-ish but it was way worse expected. We had to change rooms to get a functioning shower and it was barely working.

Pros:

This was a good value for money accommodation in a character guest house with a handy location, walkable into Old Town and lots of cafes/restaurants etc nearby.

Cons:

The double bed in our room wasn't as good as others during our stay in Scotland, but this is often the way with older, lesser priced accommodations.

Nettes kleines Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal.
Pros:

Das 3 Sterne Hotel (früher Ritz Hotel) ist in einem historischen Gebäude mit vielen Treppen. Der Einbau eines Lifts wurde bisher nicht genehmigt. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im 3. Stock. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Der nette Receptionist hat unser Gepäck nach oben getragen. Das Personal war stets sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Unser Zweibettzimmer war nett eingerichtet. Die Betten waren sehr bequem. Frühstück wurde nicht angeboten. Es gab jedoch einen Automat für Kaffee und Kakao. Außerdem reichlich abgepackte Croissants, Donats, Müsliriegel etc. Völlig ausreichend für ein schnelles Frühstück.

Cons:

Das Badezimmer war ok, könnte aber eine Erneuerung gut vertragen.

Accoglienza e calore di casa!
Pros:

L'accoglienza è stata fantastica: il receptionist è stato super simpatico e abbiamo apprezzato moltissimo il fatto che parlasse italiano, cosa che ci ha fatto sentire subito a casa.
​La camera era comoda, pulita e davvero accogliente. Anche se la colazione non era ufficialmente prevista nella nostra tariffa, abbiamo trovato con grande piacere che era sempre disponibile una selezione per la colazione e un distributore di bevande calde a disposizione degli ospiti: un dettaglio davvero generoso e gradito!
​La struttura in sé è pulita, accogliente e offre il grande vantaggio della reception aperta 24 ore su 24, perfetta per chi ha orari flessibili.
​Lo consiglierei sicuramente e, se dovessi tornare in città, alloggerei di nuovo qui senza alcun dubbio!

Lovely location Handy to all transport

Cons:

The bathroom seriously needed renovation.The basin taps were very unstable.The water flowed on to the floor when using the shower.The light above the handbasin did not work so thev whole bathroom was quite dark.
This was a top floor twin room

A nice place to stay with walking distance to a lot of features. Would stay there again
