Очень красивый отель отличное расположение. Номер большой, кровать удобная. Есть тапочки, халаты и т п. Персонал очень дружелюбный и профессиональный!
Не работал кондиционер в жару +30 и это испросило всё впечатление от отеля
Nice hotel convenient for the event we were attending.
Quiet location.
Unfortunately the room had a few issues :-
The plug in the bath was broken it said to pull and turn but in doing this it came away.
No bottled water in the room
Struggled to switch off the lights over the bed dimmer switch was not working properly.
Need a bit of TLC.to bring it up to scratch
Spacious room for London.
Breakfast service was chaotic and buffet food not very pleasant.
I stayed across the road in the Barbican Rooms. It was very quiet but away from the facilities of the hotel. Comfy bed
They tried to bump me to a stay up on City Rd in Montcalm East which is out in the boondocks in London terms. They told me at 14.30 the night before my stay (which was booked the week before) I spent a lot of time on hold in call centres trying to sort out either a refund or a stay in the Brewery or Royal hotels. Eventually I found out at 10 am on the day of my 2 night stay they’d found a room for me. A lot of unnecessary stress and a waste of my time. Would make me think twice about booking again.
Lokalizacja, śniadania, obsługa hotelu
Akurat w moim pokoju nie działała klimatyzacja i był taki przenośny wiatrak
Clean, all good
Nothing wrong with stay but did search for hotel with parking and it said there was a discount at car park near by but when I phoned to find address for parking they said there was no discount
Limpieza y comodidad
I would have no issues recommending friends or family to stay at the Montcalm Brewery Townhouse. The hotel is pleasant, the staff are accommodating, and the area around the hotel is extremely close to the Barbican if attending any concerts. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and coffee shops to relax and it doesn't have the usual rowdiness that you get in other parts of London. The rooms are a good size, the facilities were decent and the room was well air conditioned for my preferences. The breakfast is excellent with a good range of options, including a buffet style cooked breakfast which tasted great. I thought overall the stay for 2 nights was very good value for money and I would definitely stay again if I was intending to go to the Barbican for any concerts.
These aren't show stoppers for me, but upon arrival it was slightly chaotic as many of the rooms weren't ready after 3pm and this caused a few disgruntled faces in the lobby. The receptionists did their best to try and reassure everyone, but I simply went to the pub around the corner eventually and returned later. The strangest thing in the rooms for me was that the bathroom has a see-through glass panel rather than a wall, meaning anyone else in the room would be able to see someone using both the shower or the toilet. One of the rooms i'd booked had a roller blind to pull down but the other one didn't which probably needs to be addressed. I was more curious about the idea behind it in the first place, perhaps if a lucky chap wishes to watch his beloved re-enacting the Cadbury's flake advert from the 90s in the bathtub, fair enough but I think any other chocolate log on show is a no for me! But comical all the same, and different folks, different strokes!!
This is a superb hotel and ideally located near the Barbican. Excellent rooms with a warm welcome from the friendly and professional staff.
We were warned about the air-con and told to contact them if we had problems. They had provided us with a portable machine, but I still didn’t get much sleep. However, that was down to me not wanting to make a fuss.
We were watching a show at Barbican so t was a great location and we would stay again
The initial reception wait. And then being told we were in another building. Which was fine but we had to wait for concierge to show us where. Why didn’t reception just tell us? Breakfast was a bit manic and for some reason they don’t like putting spoons on the table so you have to ask where they are. They are in a drawer. I don’t look in drawers in a hotel breakfast area.
Good
Position& friendly helpful staff
The aircon in our room was not working, but couldn’t fault their efforts. Room had an excellent tower fan and the minibar was topped up for free.
Only thing I can say to improve is to have a room to change in to after travelling. 3pm check in is standard but people don’t usually arrive in London for 3pm. Just a room to freshen up would be great. You could use the toilets but that’s not ideal.
Good location, comfy beds and hot showers. Breakfast had a good selection and the staff were lovely.
Check in was from 3 but we didn’t get our room until 4.45pm and the air conditioning was broken and this facility was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. We were given a complimentary drink but late check in meant we had to go straight out again to get to our concert. They did provide a fan for the room but this just moved hot air round
The character of the building
The staff were not helpful. The rooms were "tired". The AC in my room was very cold, but I did not want to try and change it as others were reporting no AC at all.
The breakfasts were average, which is not acceptable in this standard of hotel. The layout for the breakfast area was terrible.
I would always recommend staying in The Montcalm Royal over this hotel.
