Great service for any situation
Pros:

Julie at Castaways made my night. I very rarely travel alone and was reluctant to go out alone at night. Instead of ordering ubereats to my room I decided to eat and grab a drink at the poolside. I’m so glad I did. It’s rare you find a bartender who is perfectly friendly, can make fantastic cocktails, and is quick even with a rowdy crowd in summer. She even took the time to make a drink inside for me when I asked about something she didn’t have the ingredients for outside. Perfectly safe and still enjoyable. My meal was good, too, Thanks, Julie!

Memorial Day weekend 2026
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at the Courtyard Galveston! From the moment we arrived, Tara the GM and the front desk team made us feel so welcomed and valued. The hospitality and customer service throughout our stay were truly outstanding.

A special thank you to Laura for the amazing breakfast service and coffee in the morning — she was so kind, attentive, and started our day off perfectly!

The hotel itself was extremely clean, modern, and looked brand new. The pool area was also very clean, refreshing, and a great place to relax after a day out.

As Marriott Rewards members, experiences like this are exactly why we love staying with Marriott properties. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Galveston!

Prima standhotel. Ontbijt wel elders.
Pros:

Locatie was prima. Mooi aan het strand. Wij hadden een kamer met zeezicht en balkon. Het zwembad was ook erg fijn.

Cons:

Wij hebben 1 keer ontbeten in het hotel. Voor 2 kleine yoghurtjes, 1 muffin uit de magnetron - akelig - en 2 kleine koffie betaal je - plus de verplichte fooi - zo’n 45 dollar. Walgelijk duur. Tip: ga lekker ontbijten bij de Sunflower Bakery in Galveston. Toptent voor goed, lekker en gezond ontbijt.

It was okay but better
Pros:

I like that the room was spacious and that it had a microwave to warm up your food

Cons:

I didn’t like that I had to pay for the hotel again because booking did not send confirmation of the reservation and payment made and that our room was way in the back and had no view

Beautiful location just get info about parking in writing!

Cons:

The staff was rude. I was lied to several times before arriving about parking and price talked to the asst manager but she kept calling me a liar. I reported her and others to corporate. Normally I just let things go but being called a liar didn’t set well to me. We had issues with staff at both Marriott properties. I’ve been a member for years with my business and never once complained.

Excellent staff, great value for money
Pros:

Friendly, helpful staff and good food/drinks in the bistro area. The bistro is far beyond what one might expect from a hotel in this price range and the staff were attentive and kind. The patio and pool areas were also surprisingly upscale.

Location is perfect if you want to be on the seawall, but away from the crowds and traffic further east. Close to public access points for the western beaches.

My only reason for not giving this hotel a 5/5 rating is that I did not find the bed and pillows to be quite comfortable. For my taste, the bed was too soft and the pillows were too firm. However, this would not keep me from returning giving the high quality of other amenities and excellent staff.
