Hotel was closed when our driver turned up - still waiting for your response regarding a refund.
Was sold a room by Booking.com that had been blocked off by the hotel .Other customers affected too.
Disappointed with the bathroom and toilet shared with bar staff friends down the corridor from my room. Manager didn’t show me the back door entrance so when I went out early in the morning I was effectively locked out til a taxi driver helped me locate the gate in other street down a garden - not helpful and fairly distressing as I walked my fig at 6.30 am !!

It was right in the centre of barnard castle with a bus stop outside so you can visit elsewhere if you want
We liked the property and the staff were excellent they are doing some refurbishment but it didn’t spoil our stay the manageress was lovely she could have done enough for us
Family room was spacious and bed was comfy. They don't do breakfast but there are several good options nearby.
Very friendly and relaxed people. I was made to feel very welcome and wouldn't hesitate to use this place again.
The shower was too hot! The temperature wouldn't turn down. I did not mention this at the time so I assume they would have helped if I'd asked.

Good Central location and excellent value for money.
The room was very tired. They were obviously in the process of redecorating to make improvements which will hopefully improve things. Both nights there loud music playing and noisy drinkers below the window. One night into the early hours. If we want to get a good night's sleep don't book at the weekend.

Great place just not for me
Showers stunk of poo the tolilets stunk of urine and it was just not for me. I should have booked a room with an en suite so thats down to me
