ibis Ambassador Seoul Insadong-Newly renovated in 2025

The hotel was in a great location for the foodie lovers, so many places to choose from and all at your doorstep.
The room was a great size and everything clean and comfortable.
The staff were all very helpful and professional would definitely recommend this hotel.

It is in an excellent location for temples and food markets. The staff were very helpful and the room was very clean. Breakfast was acceptable but not great.

The Ibis Ambassador Seoul Insadong was one of three hotels that we stayed at during our recent trip to Korea. A four-star hotel in Myeongdong was our favorite, but the much-cheaper Ibis was our second favorite. Okay, the room was small (19 M2) but the space was thoughtfully arranged. The luggage rack was big enough for our two large suitcases, and there was ample floor space for our smaller bags. The “closet” was open, but there were plenty of hangers. The bathroom was compact—and the walls/floor were laminate rather than tile—but there was enough counter space for two. There is an in-room safe, refrigerator (two new bottles of water daily), and a fitness center. All good!

The hotel is a few blocks away from the Jongno-3 subway stop and a bit further from the Anguk stop (also the pickup point for the Airport Limousine, 17,000 KWR). We found the Insadong neighborhood to be more enticing than Myeongdong, with dozens of intriguing restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was solid if not spectacular: mostly western items without the Korean specialties that we enjoyed at other stays.

Biggest drawback? The hotel seems to host major tour groups. You’ll see the buses, and the hoards of people in the lobby, chatting loudly at breakfast. Worse: during our two-night stay, there seemed to be groups of largely unsupervised teenagers/young adults in the hotel. I confronted a group of young women who were noisily chatting in the hall outside of our room; they were apologetic and dispersed. But I later asked the hotel to deal with a group of noisy young men in the hall. And the next morning (7:15 AM), three young men were having a loud conversation in the hall with the doors to their rooms open, music playing loudly.

That is the cost of staying at the Ibis.

Die Lage war super, Zimmer sauber und sehr ruhig trotz belebter Umgebung. Direkt gegenüber ist ein 7eleven und die Ubahn Station ist nicht weit enfternt.
Das Hot Tube Bad war angenehm nach einem langen Tag mit viel Fußmarsch und das Personal grüßte immer freundlich.

Excellent location, great area, lovely reception area, very welcoming staff. Comfortable room, newly refurbished. Very comfortable bed.
