Review Highlights

Pros:
Excellent location and sea views
Very friendly and helpful staff
Strong breakfast/food offerings
Clean, spacious rooms for many guests
Parking available
Cons:
Aging bathrooms / toilet issues
Rooftop bar/restaurant sometimes closed for renovation
Small pool
Occasional noise (dogs, many cats) and minor amenities missing (e.g., hairdryer)
Some language issues with room service; isolated wifi/TV complaints

Categories

Cleanliness
7.2
Rooms frequently described as clean, but multiple comments call out ageing bathrooms, shower leakage and awkward/toilet issues which lower the score.
Service
9.5
Staff repeatedly praised as friendly, welcoming and very helpful; a few mentions of room service not speaking English are minor negatives against otherwise excellent service.
Location
9.9
Consistently highlighted as a major positive: prime, seafront/front-of-harbour positioning, very walkable and near old town and marina with many guests citing the view.
Room Quality
7.8
Rooms described as large with excellent beds by many, but several reports note dated bathrooms, too-soft mattresses or heavy pillows and maintenance issues in some rooms.
Amenities
7.5
Good rooftop/pool/parking facilities mentioned; however pool is described as small and rooftop bar/restaurant was closed for renovation in some stays, and a few missing items (e.g., hairdryer) were noted.
Value for Money
7
Some guests feel the price is high (extra charges for breakfast or café items noted); overall value is slightly below the hotel's strong service/location offering.
Food and Beverage
9
Breakfast and food receive frequent praise (excellent breakfast, delicious cookies, food described as perfect), though one guest noted breakfast not included in their rate.
Overall Experience
8.5
Majority of reviews describe an enjoyable, comfortable stay with outstanding location and staff; negatives (bathroom condition, occasional noise, small amenities issues) temper but do not outweigh positives.

Enjoyable stay with good location
Pros:

Good location, friendly staff, indoor pool, gym and sauna facilities.

Cons:

Not a lot of variety for buffet breakfast for the size of the hotel, it was ok but not great.

Excellent inner city hotel for quick stays and access to marina and the city
Pros:

The Hotel's location is as good as it could be. Just across from the renewed marina complex. Very close to the central part of the city, too.

Cons:

My room in particular had started to show its age. A refit/refurbishment is probably in the plans. Although the staff were very nice, capable, hospitable and caring, there just weren't that many of them. But then again, this was a DoubleTree-branded hotel, so slightly more cost-conscious.
