Great location, friendly staff, but the room needs significant maintenance

We really wanted to like this hotel because there are several things it does well. The location is excellent — it’s close to plenty of shops, the night market, Lotte Mall, lots of Korean BBQ restaurants, Busan Tower, and a nearby subway station. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the free ramen/cooking station and coffee. The smoking area with comfortable seating was another nice touch, and the room itself was quite spacious by Asian standards.

Unfortunately, the condition of the room made our stay much less comfortable than we had hoped.

The biggest issue was the bed, which was extremely hard and uncomfortable. We barely slept on the second night and needed a massage after the first night. The room and furniture also appear quite old and would benefit from renovation. There were numerous scratches on the furniture and walls, and the floor was uneven and somewhat warped.

The bathroom was functional but also showed its age. The shower setup caused water to spread across the entire bathroom due to what seems to be a construction/design issue. There were also open drill holes in the shower area. The towels had small holes in them, although the bathroom appliances were old, they were at least functional.

Cleanliness was okay overall, but it could definitely be improved. We noticed quite a bit of dust around the electrical outlets and in some corners. We also found some questionable-looking electrical wiring, which was concerning from a safety perspective.

Overall, we think this hotel has a lot of potential because of its excellent location, friendly staff, generous room size, and useful free amenities. However, the rooms are in need of maintenance and updating, particularly the beds, flooring, bathroom, electrical fixtures, and general condition of the furniture and walls.

Excellent staff, good location

The location of the hotel is fantastic. Right in the heart of a busy and bustling section of Busan, with Jagalchi Market and numerous restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. However the hotel is just far enough away to not be able to hear any late night noise from the revelry.

A number of previous reviews have mentioned about the transparent glass to the bathroom and toilet. In our room the glass window to the bathroom had been covered with plasterboard and turned into an internal wall. So from the bedroom area you could not see the bathroom and toilet at all. The transparent door still remained, but this faced the room’s entrance corridor so unless you deliberately walked into this corridor area you could not see into the bathroom at all.

As for a kettle in the room: there isn’t. But there is a free bean-to-cup coffee machine in the lobby and a water machine that dispenses both hot and cold water, which the hotel expects people to use to make instant noodles as well as use as drinking water.

Finally, as others have commented there isn’t a ‘do not disturb’ / ‘do not make up’ sign. However we asked for our room not to be made up and the hotel staff obliged and didn’t change our towels, etc.

Would we stay here again? Yes. After some apprehension due to people’s reviews, we were very pleased we had chosen this hotel.

The hotel is located under the Busan Tower and is near to Jungang中央 metro station. Walking there from the metro station takes about 5 mins. But what impressed me most was the excellent service and hospitality of the front desk staff! The lady and the gentleman at the front desk gave us a warm welcome and were willing to provide considerate service. Every time we came in, they would smile warmly and the gentleman even helped us cook instant noodles and sort waste which made us surprised. I would sincerely recommend this hotel for its service, facilities, and location. This is an excellent travel experience for me in Busan!
