Nice hotel, amazing friendly staff and superb room cleaning.
Breakfast can be improved a lot as everyday the food menu was the same and we didn't like a lot of the food available in the breakfast. Regarding the evening dinner, we never ate dinner in the hotel so we cannot leave feedback on that.
We chose this hotel largely because of the many reviews describing it as warm, friendly, and welcoming. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.
The hotel’s strongest points are its beautiful views. However, the overall service fell well below our expectations and significantly impacted our holiday.
Throughout our stay, staff generally appeared disengaged and unapproachable. Friendly interaction was minimal, non existent and several other guests we spoke to shared similar observations. This was particularly surprising as we have always found Greek hospitality to be exceptionally warm and welcoming.
The location may suit some travellers, but it is worth noting that the area is quite commercialised. At the bottom of the hill you’ll find the main road, restaurants, shops, and the beach. Those seeking a more authentic Cretan atmosphere may prefer Old Town Chania. We particularly enjoyed the tavernas around Rokko taverna( put that into google and you will quote a few delicious places to eat around there) , which offered excellent traditional food and much friendlier service.
The room itself was disappointing. The bed was uncomfortable, and the bedding was not fitted properly, exposing a stained mattress protector underneath. Bathroom was small. Housekeeping was also inconsistent, with towels occasionally removed and not replaced.
Breakfast lacked variety, particularly for vegetarians. The fruit selection was limited, orange and watermelon everyday. Given Crete’s reputation for fresh produce, we expected a wider choice of local fruit and more varied options overall.
The most concerning issue occurred when €100 went missing from our room. While I appreciate that cash theft can be difficult to investigate, I reported it to reception simply so management was aware. The matter appeared to be dismissed without any visible attempt to investigate or follow up, which left us feeling uncomfortable and unsupported. Granted I should’ve put cash in the safe or in a safe place, although I’ve never had this problem before.
Overall, the hotel has potential because of its setting and views, but our experience was let down by poor customer service, inconsistent housekeeping, and disappointing food. Based on our stay, I do not feel the hotel reflects the positive reviews that influenced our booking, and I would not choose to stay here again.more a 2 star
If you like good views and a peaceful setting this is definitely the hotel to stay in. There is a 10 minute walk mainly up hill from the commercial centre to the hotel ,but for a reasonable level of fitness this should not pose a problem-( best not to tackle on the hottest part of the day,) There is a free hotel shuttle bus (bookable) for those who do not wish to walk. We are both in our late 60s and often walked down to the centre and back more than once a day. The bonus is being away from noisy bars and traffic -and views from most areas of the hotel .
The pool is a good size, 1.40 metres deep throughout ,well maintained and kept very clean. It never seemed to get too busy and in the afternoons we were always able to find available sunbeds . Perfect for a relaxing swim.
I can't praise the restaurant staff enough , everyone so polite , efficient and always ready to help. The food completely exceeded my expectations , always a good choice on offer and fresh and nicely presented . Thank you for a memorable holiday
We loved our stay here once we got our bearings and figured out where to go and to time it right with the shuttle bus which is a godsend as we had glorious hot weather. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate for a 3 star hotel. If you can't find anything to eat than I do not know what you want! We stayed in the block furthest away from reception and it was very peaceful. I will say though the room was clearly newly furnished it looked nothing like the room we booked on Jet2 but that was fine. Side sea view room 509. The views are fantastic round the pool and restaurant area. Agia Marina itself was lovely. Lots of great tavernas, higher end beach & bars restaurants. Something for everyone. We will return
This is our second stay with this hotel, we absolutely love it, the staff are all fantastic, so friendly, shout out to Mr D running the bar and pool area like clockwork, and also to thias, and karen, you guys are amazing. Hotel is very clean, meals have something for everyone, a good selection. Had issue with bathroom light, it was sorted straight away. Will certainly be returning to your lovely hotel.
Holiday with friends. Previous people have explained everything about the hotel.
Yes it's away from the town and up a bit of a hill ( hard in the heat!) but yes the hotel puts on transport. At night we got the restaurants to get us taxi 10 euros. All the staff really lovely. A couple of nights we ate in and for 20 euros the food was fine.
The best restaurant was Rustic Garden...delicious. The beach great and places to eat there. This hotel was a nice surprise.
Let’s start with location. Description is on a hillside, yes it is and it’s a steep climb. There is a complimentary bus service which needs to be booked. However being a couple who prefer to walk we took on the challenge of the hill.
820m takes you to the first couple of restaurants and shops but the main strip is further on (turn left) and there are some good restaurants up side streets.
850m to beach we used the CJ / Eden beach area but the beach is long and plenty of payable or free sun beds along the beach area.
Hotel: check is very quick and smooth. We booked a superior double with sea view. Tourist tax is €5 a day and safe was €2 a day. Air-con was free.
Room: room was very big, okay storage but could have done with a few more shelves. Fridge and safe inside wardrobe. Small TV with one English channel which was a movie channel.
Bed was comfortable but pillows could be better. Towels changed every other day. Bedding maybe twice a week?
Now the downside of the room .. bathroom was tiny and shower cubicle was very narrow.
Hairdryer available but in bathroom which I did not use as I prefer to use my own.
Cleanliness of room was okay.
I liked the do not disturb sign and make my room up signs to be a modern addition.
Breakfast: available until 10am but after 9.15am less availability and not topped up. Continental section, Hot food was either scrambled or poached eggs, bacon, sausage, beans and porridge , pastries, bread, one toaster which was in the wrong place as next to juice machine and coffee machine creating a bit of a bottleneck, Fruit and yoghurt section.
Pool area: no issues with getting a sun beds after lunch. Mixture of sunshine and shaded areas.
Large pool 140m deep and a small children’s pool.
Pool bar: variety of drinks but on occasions needed more than one person serving. We did have two lunchtime meals. One we sent back a chips were cold.
Small glass of wine €3 and large draft Mythos €5
Staff: friendly
Overall a lovely clean, well maintained hotel which is in a peaceful location and if it wasn’t for the fact that it was on a hillside I would have returned again.
Alles lief vriendelijk proper lekker alles is altijd top. Komen er al jaren 2x per jaar!
Niets
Once again what a wonderful holiday we came again for the 3rd time but brought the rest of the family.Thoroughly made to feel welcome as soon.as we arrived big shout out to Dimi and Thias (hope i spelt her name correctly) who went above and beyond as always. We absolutely loved the new Entertainment especially joining in with the Karaoke (I do feel there needs to be more choice entertainment though thats my only gripe).Room was clean and was always cleaned when requested and the food at breakfast was lovely (please put more cake on😂).
Our light in the bathroom broke but was dealt with immediately by the staff without hesitation.
We are booking to come back next May/June and bringing our friends with us. The views from the pool are just breathtaking you won't be disappointed and the grounds are clean and gardens are kept pristine.
See you next year

Dość rozłożysty teren hotelu z ładna zadbana zielenią.Basen ładny, wygodny dobrze usytuowany, można było przyjemnie odpocząć. Najbardziej podobała mi się opcja śniadania na dworze z widokiem na morze.
Blisko miasteczka - spacerkiem 10 min.
Personel sympatyczny.
Sniadania są codziennie takie same, albo prawie takie same. W czasie dłuższego pobytu to będzie nużące.
Restaurant vor Ort, gute Parkmöglichkeit
Dusche war sehr klein und eng
Sadly the hotel was a bit of a let down. Arrived late was told dinner was in our room fridge, 2 salad sandwiches,2 bowls of potato salad and 2 of the smallest bottles of water ever.No option of a warm drink. No atmosphere at all, indoor bar not open, food probably the poorest we've had, breakfast was dire very little choice, dinner was the same none of it was hot and choice was minimal. There aldo seemed to be an issue with flies around the food. Cleaners very noisy from 7am onwards. Water went off during our 3rd night couldnt get a shower, came back on nobody informrd us what was going off. When we did shower water flooded the bathroom floor this was in a newly refurbished room. Pool area was nice, outside bar was ok. We hired a car and stayed out of the hotel as much as possible, also we ate out as much as posdible. Very sad as the hotel looked nice and the grounds were very nice.
The hotel describes itself as peaceful and tranquil.....definitely not. We were woken up most mornings around 7am by cleaners outside our room. Half way through our holiday a dance/yoga group arrived who were doing dance classes before 8am on the area between the rooms with music blaring. On our last day, hoping to relax around the pool for a few hours they started a class and took over the pool area. The staff in the restaurant were lovely, food is your usual buffet breakfast. The walk down to the road to the main road where the restaurants and bars are only took around 7-8 minutes and was quite a nice stroll. Not the relaxing break we were hoping for . If I wanted noise I could have gone to a big hotel.....disappointed (and tired)
Es un hotel muy familiar ideal para pasar unos días de vacaciones
Por momentos no salía agua a caliente
Widok na morze
Odległość od plaży
