Location was good.
Before our stay, we contacted the hotel because previous reviews mentioned bed bugs. The hotel assured us there were no such issues, so we proceeded with the booking.
On our first night, we found what appeared to be a bed bug crawling across our pillow and recorded a video. We immediately packed our belongings, checked out, and requested a refund. The receptionist questioned the authenticity of the video, stating that it “could be from anywhere,” and offered no solution. We were forced to find alternative accommodation in Amsterdam late at night.
The hotel later informed us that a pest control inspection found no evidence of bed bugs and considered our video “inconclusive.” However, this does not change what we saw and recorded in the room.
Even setting aside the bed bug issue, the room was noticeably dirty and the handling of our complaint was disappointing. This was the worst hotel experiences we have had.

Fijne kamer met bad en mooi uitzicht. We konden zelfs lekker buiten zitten op ons balkonnetje. Lekker ontbijt en als extra service het happy hour.
Prima plek en fijne bedden.
Het bad was ronduit vies maar echt vies op de bodem. Verder was de kamer wel schoon maar dit was een domper. Ik heb een aantal jaren geleden hier meermaals verbleven en sindsdien lijkt er weinig vernieuwd of onderhouden.

Bad/no air conditioning and couldn’t open window, carrying heavy suitcase to 3rd floor.

Broken shower tap. Only very hot water. Mattress was old, could feel the springs
I upgraded the room for an extra 30Euros and ended up with a view of the canal but unable to get in and out of the bed easily. You had to climb up from the bottom of the bed.
Our friend who kept the original room with a street view had a lovely large room.
Lovely little hotel hotel close to Rembrandtplein en Vijzelgracht. The rooms were cozy and the beds super comfy. The hotel does not have AC but we were advised about this during the booking process, so all good. :) There is a lovely porch out back with a gracht running by. I've never experienced anything as relaxing as this. Perfect spot for a morning coffee or an afternoon brewski.

The location right on the canal was fabulous and the free drinks and nibbles each afternoon was a great way to meet other guests
Not having a lift did make it interesting getting your luggage to your room
