A beautiful hotel, so comfortable and clean. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Lovely breakfast on the rooftop. Would 10/10 recommend.
Good hotel with good service. The only downside was that the walls and floors were very thin, so we could hear everything happening in the hotel in the morning.
Location, staff, cleanliness
Soundproofing of rooms
The property is well maintained. It has high ceilings, spotlessly clean walls, wooden staircases and choice pieces of furniture. Our room and bathroom was spacious. The accommodation is well situated.
Our dinner was fabulous and there was traditional live music.
The shutters of the bedroom were closed by staff despite our opening them. It made the room unnecessarily dark.
Hotel storico al centro della città. Mobili in legno molto belli.
Centrally located
Nice rooms
Clean
Personnel very friendly
Bathroom with a bathtub and his and hers sink, spacious bedroom , all the lounge areas are so pretty! The rooftop restaurant 🫰🏾
No elevator
Bad experience overall from booking to checkout : difficult to reach out ver the phone, hidden charges, very noisy rooms, waiter disrespectful.
Nice antique small hotel.
Very polite and friendly staff.
Close to city centre
A charming hotel in the heart of Stone Town. I had a very spacious room and bathroom. Loved the fact that there was a full size shower and bathtub with his and hers sinks. I particularly appreciated the authentic Zanzibari decor and the quality and attention to detail regarding the design materials, especially the floor (hahaha, i do like a well done concrete floor).
I'd also like to thank Brenda who took the time to get our feedback on site specifically regarding the policy of more bottles of complimentary water. This wasn't the biggest issue however given the hot/humid climate of the country, this should be taken into consideration.
Would highly recommend!
Well situated in Stone town. Close to the airport. Very clean and well appointed furnishing. Beautiful rooms. Friendly staff. Beautiful rooftop restaurant with very good food.
We stayed in a standard room with king size bed. Paid USD120 / GBP89,
Good:
- Lovely house from the 1800’s sensitively and stylishly converted into a boutique hotel. Located in the heart of historic Stone Town with easy walking to the main sites.
- Spotlessly clean room
- Very comfortable bed
- Clean, quality bed linens
- Powerful shower with lots of hot water
- Great a/c
- Super-friendly, helpful staff
- Freshly cooked breakfast included in the price - the Zanzibar pancakes were excellent
- Excellent pick-up and drop-off from/to the ferry port
Beware:
- Good quality food from the roof-top restaurant - priced on the high side
- Don’t sell alcohol, but they are happy for you to drink your own
- Towel quality not the best
Overall fantastic value. Highly recommended for a visit to Zanzibar.
