Good location but nothing else I liked about this hotel. Its awful.
Its so outdated, and absolutely filthy. The staff are just unhelpful and moody.
The Location and spa facilities , parking
2 out of 3 rooms booked had problems with the showers. Some updates required including a lick of paint to the pool area.
Pool
Room too hot, no air con, windows didn’t open
The hotels position
The overall poor decoration of the hotel. Very old fashioned. In need of a complete refurbishment.
The location. The parking. It had a pool. The bar area.
Showers to 2 of our 3 rooms had problems with heat regulation. My room floor 1 was the same price as my daughter’s floor 2 . Her room was substantially smaller with no fridge. Air con in my room not controllable.
Pool area lovely but a lick of paint would help aesthetically. Huge restaurant not enough staff. Menu fair.
Location couldn’t be better.having been coming to the haven for many years I think the food has changed.it is no longer fine dining but enjoyable.i do think we should have had an apology for the disruption of the fire alarm going off 3 times in one night.will definitely be back
Good breakfast.
Nothing
Location is always the best along sandbanks
The Staff were not welcoming, especially given the price of accommodation. Unfortunately the fire alarm sounded 4 times during the night, one resulting in a full evacuation at 5am, no apology was given upon checkout and having missed breakfast nothing was offered which was a shame
We stayed at the Haven last year and thought it was a bit “tired”and the lift was a nightmare. This time the whole feeling had improved, the staff were better and the lift had been modernised. The room 211 was excellent.
The position of the hotel and views make up for any minor criticisms.
See comments below regarding the room which itself was very nice. The breakfast and staff were very good. The location of the hotel was also very good.
The room 331, a delux room as we had asked and paid for, to which we were allocated had no lift to it and it was a real hike to find it along corridors and up several stairs. On the second day our room key did not work which meant the hike back to reception. We then found there was no replenishment of the milk and tea bags so another hike to get some. We later found only one set of bath and hand towels had been left but we could not face the hike for a third time so left it for the next day to ask for more.
The location was outstanding
Parts of the hotel were very tired;
Bathroom very tired needed repair
Outside patios dirty and weeds
Breakfast was very basic no bread alternatives
The position , ex staff.
V helpful . Beautiful hotel
Nothing
Food quality good. Staff friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Handy for bus connections to Swanage, Poole and Bournemouth. Nice indoor pool.
Rooms and food are expensive. Great sea-front location but no shops or restaurants nearby. A half-hour walk to buy a newspaper.
Superb location , wonderful friendly staff and fabulous breakfast 😃
Nothing !
A somewhat dated beachfront Hotel adjacent to some of the most expensive real estate in the UK
Things we enjoyed:
Staff were lovely, front desk couldn't be more helpful and the cleaning team were thorough and did a great job.
Room was great obviously the view was awesome
Food was good quality, breakfast in particularly, great variety
EV car charging was easy, all three chargers were working and available during Bank Holiday weekend
Things we liked less:
Service at dinner took ages, the staff we're literally running around but there were just too few of them.
Cost of drinks in the hotel was incredibly high, large gin and tonic cost us £15
Outside of these things we had a great stay.
