Stern am Rathaus

I stayed at the hotel again in July of 2026. I had previously stayed at the hotel the previous year. The owner remembered me. The staff were very nice and helpful. They gave a great recommendation for a restaurant for dinner. The breakfast was delicious especially the eggs and banana bread. The banana bread reminded me of the bread I make. My stay was great.

Incredibly comfortable bed, unbelievably excellent breakfast and extremely helpful hosts, who seemingly speak more languages than I recognised. Location was ideal for access to Köeln Hbf & the Dom and some half reasonable restaurants & bars.

Super clean and superbly maintained. The owners were absolutely the most gracious and accommodating that could be imagined. Far exceeded our expectations. The food for brunch was lovingly and carefully prepared. Superb experience here!

The hotel is very well kept and has an excellent array of amenities, including air conditioning in each room and a superb breakfast buffet. But the real draw is the incredible service. Every person we spoke to was the kindest and most helpful person imaginable. I was locked out of my room due to a key error, and after a phone call someone got to the hotel to let me in and fix my key within 10 minutes. Traveling with a toddler, they were also so incredibly accomodating and understanding of all of our extra needs. If we ever come near Cologne again, we'll be staying right here.

The location is perfect, right on the main platz without actually being on the main platz. The room is small but beautifully updated. Air conditioning was incredibly helpful during a historic heatwave. Breakfast was superb. And the staff was so helpful in accomodating our toddler.

Lovely hotel right in the centre of Cologne which made the exploring of the city easy. The breakfast was outstanding and I don´t think we´ve ever experienced more kind, helpful and caring staff. We arrived late after opening hours but got thorough instructions on how to reach our room.

* Pros: Everything was great! The room was very fresh and the location right by the town hall was perfect. What truly stood out was the wonderful staff and the breakfast – easily the best one we had during our entire trip to Germany!
