Oxygen Jungle Villas & Spa

We had a great stay at Oxygen in July 2026. The resort is beautiful! You are right in the middle of the jungle and your room is surrounded by nature. We had a spa room that faces the ocean, which was a great view and also very relaxing, especially sitting on the terrace during a storm! The room itself is glass on 3 sides so you can see the jungle all day long.

Food was fantastic as well. Ceviche, catch of the day, and tenderloin were some of our favorites. They had a few preparations of each, definitely worth working your way through the menu during your stay.

Jungle trails to a few waterfalls are right on the property by the spa. One trail will get you there in 40 minutes, the other gets you there in about 15. Waterfalls are an easy climb up a few rocks to get right up there.

Fantastic spa menu, we booked a couples spa with cheese and wine. We felt the value for that was great. The spa is in the jungle and we loved that they didn’t put on any music. Instead, your soundtrack is the jungle - birds, a stream, wind blowing in the trees. Just magical.

The staff was the best part of the whole visit. Literally every single person was friendly and welcoming, they all knew us by name by the second day we were there.

We loved our stay and will be coming back next time we are in Costa Rica! It was a perfect balance of nature and relaxation.

PS - you definitely need a 4x4 SUV to get there! You are driving about 15 minutes up an unpaved, rocky and muddy road going straight up a mountain. You’ll also want a car to drive down to the beach and town.

Honestly, I havent experienced such attentive and kind staff in my entire life and I am not exaggerating. The villas themselves were beautiful, but what would honestly keep me coming back was the quality and genuine attitudes of the staff there. I was sick one day and the staff continuously checked on me and asked about my wellbeing. They were always immediately responsive when (the millions of times) I requested transportation to and from the town/tours I had. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would 100 percent come again.

My wife and I spent a week at this luxurious 5-star resort. We stayed in the Jungle Spa Villa. I would like to thank Tania, Aaron, Fiorella, Borman, Mauricio, Chef and kitchen staff at restaurant, bartenders, and servers who moved heaven and earth to make our stay not only enjoyable but truly memorable. They ensured that there was no request too big or too small and helped us plan our day and take care of the small things that we did not think of (too many to list here). The property is situated on a hill where you can see the lush tropical rainforest and the magnificent Pacific Ocean. The view is truly spectacular (especially when viewing from the infinity pool or restaurant)!! The Oxygen Team are an amazing group of individuals who ensured that our stay was beyond 5 stars. We stayed in the Jungle Spa Villa. This room is private and secluded. We were fortunate to see so many native animals. The best part was it was so quiet, tranquil and peaceful. It was both romantic and an environment where we could both unwind and reconnect. A true RETREAT! The food at the resort's restaurant was absolutely outstanding. There is nothing on their menu that was not amazing. I have never stayed at a resort where the food was outstanding! We had a private dinner at our room along with the floating breakfast. Additionally, we had a fantastic couples massage near a waterfall. I highly suggest doing all. You will not be disappointed. Team Oxygen Jungle was able to help us with arranging car service to take us to the beach, coffee tour, and Uvita. While other folks have commented on the cost, but we found it convenient and reliable without having to worry about delayed or missed pickups or dropoffs. Team Oxygen Jungle arranged a night tour of their property. It was absolutely terrific! we were led by 2 exceptional and experienced guides who took us around the jungle, and it was breathtaking. Speaking of breathtaking, you have to take advantage of the several waterfalls on the property. They are absolutely stunning! I want to say to anyone reading this review if you are looking for a 5-star resort with top notch accommodations and amenities along with a dedicated team that really is the Gold Standard in hospitality, look no further than the Oxygen Jungle Villas! You will not be disappointed!

The stay at oxygen was amazing in every way the view, the accommodations, the food, the staff, the actives there was no room for improvement. We will be back!

I’ve tried to write this several times now and no matter what I say it doesn’t feel like it does our experience justice. I will start by saying I have absolutely no notes. From the time of the airport pick up to the time we were dropped back off, every single detail was thoughtful, intentional and beyond our expectations. Have you ever cried when checking out of your vacation spot because the staff and surroundings were so hard to leave? Me either. Until we stayed at Oxygen.

The property itself is immaculate. Clean, thought out and accommodating on every front. Settled in a mountain in the middle of the rainforest. You feel yourself relax the moment you arrive. The attention to detail is truly unmatched.

We spent 6 days there for our 10 year anniversary and felt the love from the staff the entire time. The food was 10/10 every single meal we ate. The housekeeping staff kept our room fresh, clean and smelling amazing. They are incredible!! Anytime we wanted to leave the property, the drivers were happy to take us wherever we wanted to go. We did not rent a car but most of the other guests did. They do have a four wheeler on site you can utilize while you’re there to go down the mountain and anywhere you want to go really. We took full advantage of both of the on site private waterfalls. Breathtaking to say the very least and we always had them totally to ourselves! There are only 12 villas on site so you get all the privacy and relaxation you could ever want. The Oxygen staff handled booking and transportation for all the excursions we wanted to do. Want the best massage of your life with the sound of the waterfalls surrounding you? This is your place! I cried it was so relaxing. I cry a lot haha. Their spa is beautiful. I could go on but in a nutshell, we did not have to worry about or lift a finger for anything and nothing we asked for was off the table. The staff treats you like family and genuinely want you to have the best possible experience while you’re there and it shows. The experience at Oxygen and in Uvita changed our lives forever. Staying at Oxygen was an amazing experience. My husband and I stayed here as part of a trip to celebrate 20 years married. We stayed in the OSA for a while before coming here for 4 nights. It was a brilliant decision.

First the place is beautiful. The pool area, bar and restaurant and so well done. Relaxed but beautifully finished and lit. The gardens around are so lush and you can see birds and butterflies as well as many beautiful flowers. Also only 12 rooms so never overrun.

We chose a garden villa which we loved as well. The bed was so comfortable and it was very private surrounded by nature.

I booked a massage, cheese board and wine before we arrived. The massage is right down by the river in a covered but open area. Had a wonderful massage listening to the birds, howler monkeys and river. Afterwards we sat by the pool enjoying the delicious cheeseboard and wine / it all felt like a dream.

And the service was immaculate. Nothing was a problem. Such friendly helpful people.

I would come back in a heartbeat!!!!

Oxygen exceeded my expectations!! I needed a vacation where I could have a reset, in nature/near the ocean, explore without having to leave the property, and without any chaos for my birthday reset. Oxygen was thee most perfect option! Luxury but still in the middle of nature.

I booked my stay literally the night prior, and from the second I booked, they accommodated me with a driver to pick (Mauricio, he was amazing!!) me up from the airport (4 hr drive from SJO), assisted me with planning a spa day, ziplining, and an RTV to explore the town... seamlessly and all last minute with no hesitation. They made communication with them so easy by communication through WhatsApp and were always SO quick to respond to any questions I may of had.

As a young woman traveling alone to another country for the first time, I was a little hesitant on my spontaneous decision. However, the staff was so kind and helpful throughout my whole stay, my worries went away! I'm beyond happy I made the decision to stay with Oxygen. The moment I checked in, my luggage was taken to my villa and I was greeted with a delicious complimentary drink. I requested only 2 things prior to arriving and that was a driver to pick me up from the airport and chose the "mini birthday set", which was not so mini in the slightest. It exceeded my expectations in every way, they went ABOVE AND BEYOND and honestly it put a couple tears in my eyes. They truly made me feel special. When I requested my birthday setup, they asked me what color balloons and what flavor cake I would like, that right there already blew my mind, it showed me they truly cared about their guests experience. Once they walked me to my villa and I saw the balloons through the glass doors, I was in complete awe, it wasn't just a coupe of balloons it was a WHOLE set up with the most beautiful delicious birthday cake!!!

I booked my spa day once I got to my villa and they were able to accommodate me for the next day in the morning. I am a spa/massage enthusiast and when I say this wasn't just for the aesthetics, the whole experience was amazing and one of the best massages I've received. I even fell asleep to the sound of the beautiful animals in the forest and the sound of the waterfall, hearing the real deal sounds of the animals and waterfall is a whole different experience in itself. I definitely recommend having a spa day at Oxygen!! It is truly different experience.

We had an amazing time on our babymoon at Oxygen Villas and spa. It is so beautiful and peaceful you cannot beat the private waterfalls and spa at the waterfall. The food and staff are amazing I cannot wait to come back!

My wife and I stayed at Oxygen Jungle Villas for the second half of our honeymoon, and while there were some positives, our overall experience was extremely disappointing—especially given the cost and expectations. To start with the good: the views are absolutely stunning, and the staff we interacted with were kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Our biggest issue was a serious cockroach problem in our villa. We fully expected to encounter some level of wildlife given the jungle setting—ants, spiders, beetles, etc. are completely understandable. However, cockroaches inside the villa, especially in the bedroom and bathroom areas, crossed a line into unsanitary and unacceptable. We had to keep our luggage elevated and sealed, only taking items out when absolutely necessary out of fear that roaches would get inside. For 2 out of the 6 days of our stay, we were asked to vacate our villa so staff could “exterminate” the issue. In reality, this appeared to be limited to spraying insecticide. When we returned, we were met with dead cockroaches scattered throughout the villa—around the bed, in the bathroom, and even in the bathtub. This made the space feel even more uncomfortable and unusable. When we brought our concerns to management, we were told that cockroaches are to be expected in the jungle. While we understand the environment, this did not align with our experience just 10 minutes away at Rancho Pacifico, where we encountered no such issues at all. The only compensation offered was a $70 room service credit, which felt wholly inadequate considering we spent around $5,000 on this portion of our honeymoon. Additionally, because of the ongoing issue, we ended up booking extra excursions just to avoid staying in the villa while treatments were happening—adding even more unexpected costs to our trip. We chose this resort after nearly a year of research and careful planning, and nowhere in the reviews did we see any mention of this type of issue. It was incredibly disappointing for what was supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. My wife also developed food poisoning after eating the lettuce on the chicken cub sandwich which made her violently ill for days. In summary: beautiful views and kind staff, but serious cleanliness and pest control issues that significantly impacted our stay. We would not return or recommend this property based on our experience.

Beautiful property on the hills above Uvita. I had a very positive experience with the rooms, the environment, peaceful forests. The rooms were spacious with covered balconies that face either the ocean or the jungle. I had the opportunity to stay in both, and the jungle view was better for bird watching but it did come with more mosquitos. The ocean view villa I stayed at faced West so unfortunately I did not get the sunrise photos I was hoping for.

Toucans frequent the trees right in front of the restaurant and you can sometimes hear howler monkeys from deep inside the property. The night walk by the creek was particularly amazing.

It helps to have a car because Uvita (5-7min drive away) has a wealth of activities from beach to waterfall rappelling plus a number of great eats. 4x4 vehicle is essential for this location as the last 10min are unpaved road with potholes.

My daughter and I were celebrating our 30 years of adopting her from India. The staff made this celebration very special. The staff met our every need during our two week stay. The food was amazing, our room was always clean, and the excursions were fantastic! Waking up every morning to the Howler monkeys in the jungle was exciting. The service and kindness of each staff member getting to know us personally made us feel welcomed. I will definitely come back again!

I could write an entire paper on how wonderful and amazing this hotel is. My mom and I were celebrating 30 years of happy gotcha (adoption). From the first initial phone calls of booking and making arrangements to stay, they were incredibly helpful. Mom and I stayed at the Oxygen Villa for 2 weeks. The atmosphere is perfect for everyone looking to celebrate something or just mentally reset. The location is in the mountains, but a quick 15-20 minutes to several different beaches. We chose the jungle view villa which was amazing to get up and sit in a private secluded room and porch surrounded by the lush jungle.
We waited to book our excursions until we got there and the staff helped us in every way and answered all of our questions and even if we were nervous about an excursion, they reassured and sent us feeling like we were in good hands, and we were!
The cleanliness of the whole resort was great, between excursions, staying for 2 weeks and beach days we left a little bit of a mess at times, but always perfectly clean so much so that my mom ran into the glass doors a couple times lol.
The amenties were great, we sat by the pool or the bar almost every evening and played cards. We did a massage on our last day, it was also phenomenal! Every day we had amazing breakfasts, lunches and dinners. I was able to secretly surprise my mom with a bottle of wine to our room thanks to the staff.
I want to personally thank every single staff member at the hotel, the bartenders, receptionists, cooks, housekeepers, and drivers! I greatly appreciate everyone of you all!

From the very beginning, my experience with Oxygen Jungle Villas was exceptional.

As a solo female traveler visiting Costa Rica for the first time, I had many questions, and the team was incredibly professional, responsive, and thoughtful in helping me plan my stay. Before I even arrived, I already felt safe, supported, and confident in my decision.

That feeling only deepened once I arrived. From the airport transfer to the warm welcome at the resort, every detail was handled with care. The team created an environment that felt both luxurious and genuinely personal. I never once had to question my safety or logistics, which allowed me to fully relax and enjoy the experience.

I stayed in a Jungle Spa Villa, and it was absolutely breathtaking. Immersed in nature, private, peaceful, and impeccably clean. It was everything I had hoped for and more. Waking up surrounded by the jungle was incredibly grounding and restorative.

The food was phenomenal, fresh, flavourful, generous portions, and consistently excellent service.

The staff were always available to help coordinate activities while still allowing space for independence. Whether arranging transportation to the beach, exploring local options, or simply adjusting plans based on weather, everything felt seamless and supported.

The spa experiences were also incredible. I enjoyed both the jungle spa setting and a massage by the river, which was truly unforgettable. I also appreciated the opportunity to take part in yoga, hike to the waterfall, and connect with other guests in such a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere.

The highlight of my trip, without a doubt, was the Boruca Indigenous experience. It was deeply meaningful to spend time with the community and be welcomed into their space. Throughout the day, I had the opportunity to learn about their traditions in a very hands-on and personal way, from textiles and natural dyeing, to art and symbolism, to their relationship with the land through self-sustained farming practices. We also touched on herbal medicine, traditional knowledge systems, and even midwifery practices, which was incredibly special to witness.

This experience goes far beyond tourism, it is an opportunity to connect, learn, and support directly, as all contributions go back to the community. It offers a deeper understanding of the land, its people, and the traditions that continue to be preserved and passed on. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the area.

I traveled in mid-April, just before the rainy season, and the weather was beautiful, mostly sunny with only one day of rain.

Stayed at Oxygen Jungle Villas & Spa and it was nothing short of amazing.

We LOVED our stay at Oxygen Jungle Villas & Spa; the entire experience was a dream! Staff provided the most amazing personalized service, from the moment we booked, to our departure. This wonderful boutique hotel is nestled in a hillside above Uvita, surrounded by rain forest. It was a very calm, soothing, and intimate setting with a capacity of fewer than 30 guests and adults only. We stayed in the Owner’s Loft, a spacious suite with a master bedroom, lounge area, coffee station, work desk and a large veranda with the property’s most spectacular, unobstructed views of the ocean and surrounding jungle. The space felt like an oasis; very modern, tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. Oxygen is an excellent spot for birding, and wildlife viewing - just upon arrival we had luck and spotted a three-toed sloth at eye level! Dinner at the in-house La Terraza Bistro was a Michelin-star worthy feast for all the senses. The Chef’s Special Ceviche and Special Blackened Tuna were sensational; a firework of flavors! Shout out to our wonderful mixologist and waiter Omar, who went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. Our highest recommendations for Oxygen Jungle Villas in Uvita!!

Not a review guy, but this one was different. "Sorry for the spelling" From the moment we exited the airport, not inside that sucked, we were greeted by Maricio. Let me tell you this guy is a legend among men. He whisked us away, luggage loaded and we were off like a rocket. It is a long drive, but he made it fun and informative. About halfway in we got hungry and he stopped and took us to an outstanding taco stand at Crocodile Bridge.
Apon arrival to the property, crazy steep drive up a mountain, we felt the warm embrace of every person working at the resort. Quick cloths change and straight to dinner. The food is outstanding and the wine cellar and cocktails amazed.

The property itself is stunning. Nestled in the jungle with breathtaking views, every detail feels thoughtfully designed to create a peaceful, luxurious escape. The villas are beautiful, private, clean, and perfectly maintained. The bugs are abundant but mostly friendly and stayed outside. The only sounds you will hear are bugs, birds, and monkeys in the distance.
The spa was incredible—relaxing, serene, and one of the best experiences I’ve had. It was the perfect complement to an already amazing stay.

Now let's talk about the real difference: for 8 incredible days these beautiful Costa Rican people welcomed my wife and I into their family. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank; Feo, Tanya, Aaron, Omar, V, Jason, Hazel, Brian, Louise, and every other wonderful person that made our stay the best vacation ever. Must do while you are there: private villa dinner, bird watching tour, cocktail class, spa, walk to the waterfalls, just relax!!!!!

The setting is amazing, but the reason we will be back in a year is the people. Thank you again for making my 49th Birthday one I will never forget.

The staff were wonderful. Very helpful and friendly.

This is a relatively smaller hotel compared to others I’ve stayed at, and I thought that was pretty great. It doesn’t feel crowded because there aren’t hundreds of guests, yet not empty as most people hang out by the pool and terrace restaurant near the centre of the hotel. There was an impressive staff to guest ratio, and service felt very personal. We really felt like we were taken care of and hosted during our stay.

We stayed at the suite above the reception. There’s only one of such room as the rest are villas. I quite liked our room for the view of the ocean and we could just step downstairs to dip in the pool and eat.

We booked a short horseback riding activity through the hotel which was quite easy for amateurs. The hotel also helped us arrange a driver to take us to the beautiful whale tail beach nearby.
