Great looking place with lovely rooms
Ac not working, hot water not working, phone not working
We loved the interior of the room, the furniture and the location! The reception staff was friendly and professional.
We heard a little weird noise (seems to be from outside) frequently, including at night. Not sure what caused it.
The Hotel Woolstore was the first stop on our recent 2-week trek to Australia (from the US) and was super easy to manage, welcoming with really nice staff, stylish, clean and surprisingly quiet. It's located in the Pyrmont neighborhood, across Darling Harbor from the CBD, which is actually pretty quiet and residential. Easy to get to from the airport - just take the train to central station and transfer to the L1 light rail line to the convention walk, then a zig zag over to Murray St and you're there. Rooms are very soundproofed, beds comfy, the rooms have cool exposed beams and brick, bathroom is good sized, clean and well-lit. Plus, there's a really great restaurant in the lobby with excellent breakfasts and creative tapas at night. Just down the street is the Pyrmont ferry stop, where you can catch a spectacular ferry ride over to Circular Quay. Eventually a metro stop will be down the street too. Really first rate all around and highly recommended. It was an excellent place to acclimate to Sydney and Australia, and I wish we'd stayed there longer. Excellent value, for sure!
Stayed at this hotel while attending a concert close by, it is in a good location if you want to visit Darling Harbour, the Star casino and Pyrmont. The light rail is 5 minutes' walk and there are plenty of cafes and eateries nearby. The hotel itself is very good, quite compact and they have used the space well. We found the room stylish (but a little on the small size), the bed was comfortable. and the bathroom/shower was nice and roomy. We had double glazing on our window, so the room was fairly quiet. The room was clean and seemed well maintained when we arrived. Loved the free snacks and drinks provided, sort of like a free mini bar. (Why aren't other hotels doing this?) This hotel has a nice welcoming feel to it when you walk in from the street, the staff were respectful and friendly. We had coffee, dinner and breakfast at 'Percy's' which was good, loved the tapas, the service was a little up and down but OK. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel, pricewise it is fairly reasonable.
Perfectly located for our event at the TikTok stadium! Gorgeously appointed, professional staff, comfy beds and robes, lovely toiletries. It was pouring with rain when we were there so we opted for a meal at Percy’s - FAB tapas and cocktails.
Got upgraded to a Loft room but the ceiling to bed is actually quite low and not as nice.
Proximity to ICC & parking station. Quiet, room good but quite small.
Air conditioning not very responsive to adjustment and could not be turned off.
Bedside lamps too bright.
Tradesmen drilling ceiling right near restaurant while we were eating breakfast, quite noisy.
Not being able to get a coffee & something to eat after attending evening concert. Other guests were also disappointed as well.
More tea/coffee in room & real milk.
The property is a unique experience with its deep history. The staff were so helpful and friendly and even did a special hand written note and gift when they found out it was our anniversary.
