Good hotel for short term stay if you are coming from or to the cruise terminal or want to be outside center city.
Pros:

Reception staff was exceptional and helpful. The hotel was clean & well maintained. The bed & sheets were very comfortable and room ( ours faced the harbor & main road) was quiet. Continental breakfast was good.

Cons:

Rooms very small, no hooks to hang items and only liquid soap at sink & shower. Location and distance to center city required a cab or bus ride.

Pros:

Excellent breakfast. Breakfast staff was very personable and I appreciated having a good breakfast before going on our adventures every day. Courteous and helpful staff. Clean property. Easy parking. Room on the small side, But workable. I would stay there again.

Great stay in Reykjavik
Pros:

Stayed 5 nights at this wonderful hotel. Very conveniently located. Appreciated the free parking. Yes it's not right downtown but honestly downtown is very close (5-10 minute drive), parking is cheap, and you won't be spending much time down there anyway. At Reykjavik Lights we had what I considered a large room (for Europe), very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, not an overwhelming selection but a nice selection of breads and pastries, fruits, yogurt, oatmeal, cold cuts, cheese, juices and coffee/tea. Great way to start your day, not having to worry about where you are going to get your morning coffee.

It's true, Iceland is very expensive. We felt that with everything we got at Reykjavik Lights, it was a bargain!

PS - we did not budget our time wisely so we were unable to make it to the municipal pool which is just a block away. It is supposed to be the best public pool in Iceland and I'm sorry we missed it. next time!

Great Hotel for the Price Point
Pros:

W loved our stay at the Reykjavik Lights Hotel! Everything was clean and orderly. The staff was incredibly friendly - very helpful and knowledgeable when answering our numerous questions. The breakfast buffet was perfect and allowed us to start our day without worrying where we were going to eat before our excursions. This isn't a fancy hotel by any means, but for what you pay, they deliver at a very high level!

Cozy room in a convenient location
Pros:

Very clean and cozy room, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast, away from the busy downtown but easy to get anywhere in or out of town with the rental car. We enjoyed our stay.
