Truly remarkable place
Pros:

Fantastic location. Historical building. Great interior design and style. Staff was kind and doing the best they can.

Cons:

We specifically booked and paid for a room with a balcony. But unfortunately were placed in a room without one.

My wife didn’t feel well, and it was an unpleasant surprise that hotel doesn’t even have a blood pressure monitor.

Pros:

A very good breakfast!

Cons:

Only issue is location is within the walls and parking is outside about 30 eur per day. A special arrangement usually unavailable is supposed to dro pit to 25 per day. So parking could be improved.

A great place to stay - unless there are events in the square
Pros:

This was the first hotel that we stayed at during our Jules Verne ‘Montenegro Explorer’ tour, and we stayed there for 2 nights. The hotel is situated within the old town of Kotor, overlooking the Square of the Arms and just by the Sea Gate. The building itself used to be a theatre and looks lovely both inside and outside. We particularly liked the high-ceilinged breakfast room, and the balcony overlooking the square, where you could also have breakfast. The food and service were very good at breakfast, although the presence of some other tour groups meant that the staff sometimes struggled to keep on top of replenishing the food and clearing up the tables. We were allocated room 205, a Deluxe Room on the second floor, which was large and nicely decorated with a well-equipped bathroom, a king size bed and a seating area. We also had direct access to the long balcony which overlooks the square, with great views of the town.

All of this should have made for a perfect stay in Kotor, but that’s not how things worked out. When I had booked our trip, I hadn’t realised that our visit would be during the 2-day Independence Day holiday (21st & 22nd May). And I also didn’t realise that the Square of the Arms is the main location for public events. It was therefore a surprise to find out that there were concerts in the square for the 2 nights that we were staying at the Hotel Cattaro – particularly given that we had booked via a tour operator with a local partner firm. I’m sure the very loud music and late nights were great for the locals who were celebrating, but for those of us in the hotel, it was a nightmare. Both the events went on until after midnight, and the wall of amplifier speakers meant that it was impossible to block out the noise, even with all the windows closed and using earplugs. The bass was so loud at points that the walls were vibrating. After a very early start on the day that we’d travelled to Montenegro, the last thing we needed was 2 further nights of poor sleep! So, if you are planning to stay at the Hotel Cattaro, please investigate if there will be any events on during your stay. And definitely avoid the 21st and 22nd of May if you want to get some sleep!

Потрясающий исторический отель в старом городе Котора
Pros:

Cons:

нет лифтов - тяжело поднимать чемоданы по лестнице; существенная (но разумная) цена

Pros:

Beautiful old world charm in an excellent location overlooking the main square of Kotor.
Service was personable & impeccable with nothing too much trouble, including airport transfers etc
Great breakfast service with friendly and helpful staff

Cons:

Early morning street cleaning with noisy high pressure hoses at 3am each day, although this did ensure a very clean and well maintained old town centre.

Good location, staff very helpful with restaurant and day trip reservations
Pros:

Location was good. Staffed helped a lot with blue cave and other good restaurant reservations

Cons:

Too expensive for what they offer. The elevator wasn’t working and the room was far. We stayed in hotel vardar very close by for a day when this wasn’t available and it was half the price for a larger room, a much bigger bathroom and more or less the same amenities

Pros:

Ótima localização, conforto e café da manhã excelente.

Cons:

Pros:

Location is second to none, room was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast staff and reception staff were amazing. Although room was spacious some of the decor is becoming a little tired and dated and a few bits in rooms didn’t work or were broken

Cons:

They do not fill up the coffee and tea facilities naturally when they clean the room. Seems as all they do is make the bed (if you haven’t already done yourself) and change the towels. Had to ask for milk for tea/coffee where it should be in there. Simple things yes, but definitely helps constantly having to go ask for stuff as the reception phone didn’t work and was never changed even though we asked. Really enjoyed our stay, only thing I would say is that they said they upgraded us as we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, however I am sure it is the room we paid for as it matches the description in the booking summary

Kotor is a wonderful place to stay and get away from it all, would recommend this hotel.
Pros:

The staff were excellent, without me saying anything they realised it was my wife's Birthday during our stay and presented her with an unexpected gift during breakfast.

Cons:

There was water in our room when we arrived but this was not topped up during our stay, this could be something that cold be improved.

Old World Charm meets Modern Montenegro
Pros:

Classic old world palace turned hotel. Elegant and opulent, the wood work and finishing are from a different time when craftsmanship was valued and detail appreciated. The room was great and the bed comfortable, bathroom perfect and modern. The location is exceptional and the staff extremely helpful. We loved our stay.
