Clean resonably priced room in the middle of town.
Everytjing was ok
Old fashioned traditional style no frills pub accommodation close to centre. Room had ( for England) essential amenities i.e. kettle and TV
As usual for England relatively expensive cf Europe with no aircon or fridge. Room had been previously occupied by a smoker - cigarette butts outside the window and unpleasant odour in the room although no ash trays so perhaps a rogue smoker?
No breakfast.

Location excellent, the staff friendly, the room large clean and attractive, the bed large and comfortable. Attractively furnished and the pub is in a great location, just next door to a pizza express and a few yards from the Minster and the Saturday Market. Yes as it was a Saturday night there was live music from the pub, but it was good music, not loud, and the customers were not noisy.
Needed a sturdier toilet seat, a second chair, a small desk to work at. The ensuite is accessed by 2 steep and narrow steps, and the rooms themselves are accessed by a steep staircase. It’s a very old building, even ancient, and these structural things can’t be remedied, but if you’re elderly, it’s a bit inconvenient.
Large room , comfortable bed, location excellent.
It’s a pub not an hotel. The noise level fine on two nights the music off by 10.00pm. Third night too much loud banging of doors in the pub and the music very loud and went on longer than the close of the pub.
The room was very large and spacious. It has an old world charm and the beds are very comfortable. The staff were very polite and helpful and prompt. Facilities were good with coffee making facilities and an excellent rainfall shower.
The bathroom floor had a bump in it so the door kept sticking which was very noisy and inconvenient especially at night. There were a few hairs found on the shelf in the bathroom and the desk which indicated sloppy cleaning in some areas. There should have been a warning at check in (in my opinion) about not having the windows open, as the pub delivery happened at 6am outside the room window.
Very friendly staff, good quality of finish and value for money. Comfortable bed and impeccably clean bathroom.
Was a little unsure about leaving the windows open at night, seemed quite accessible to enter from the street and access the adjoining roof. It was fine for me, but if I was someone more cautious I probably would have suffered through the heat with the windows closed.
We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night so it was a good quiet, central location.
For the cost we didn't have anything to complain about.

Location is nice, one can park easily near it.
No closet to hang closets, just few hooks on the door. The tap in the bathroom was very loose even if functional, narrow and steep stairs making it awkward to bring big and heavy suitcase.

Our reservation was cancelled by the property on the day we were travelling there. No explanation, no apology. 2 hours before we were due to check in. Couldn't get through on the phone.
Thank god we found last room in another hotel or we would have been stranded.
Beautifully located near the centre of town, everything was an easy walking distance to the shops, pubs and restaurants. The room itself was spacious, clean and quiet. The shower was hot, the bed comfortable. Parking was across the street in an NCP single level car park a three minute walk to the White Hart. The staff couldn't be more helpful and welcoming.
All in all a great spot for a short vacation.

Nice big room, very clean, bathroom very clean too.
Was woken around 11pm, but it's to be expected, I was shattered from my journey from the lake district, fell asleep just after 9pm, I could hear talking and the pool balls being released, your above a pub, so I expected that. I did ask for a fan in my room, of which was provided, but upon turning it on the plastic rotating blade, kept coming off, so after the third time I gave up and didn't use it. I had the Non feather bedding , as I'd requested, thank you.
Being a lone female, I felt a bit vulnerable, finding that the windows, don't lock. bearing in mind, there is a flat roof, right up to the window, so when I put the blinds right down I moved a chair and table up against both blinds, trapping them down, giving me better peace of mind.
Pleased to say the door lock, looks like it's been replaced , following previous reviews.

No window locks
Location was fabulous. The beer was good and the bar staff were lovely.
Relatively comfy bed.
Did not have the amenities that were described. No toiletries, no lamp shade on the one and only light fitting. Dirty walls, broken window, dirty shower with heavy limescale, could not fill kettle from sink tap as sink was too small to fit the kettle under tap....overall, not a good experience for the money pre-paid.
