Character clean spacious
Bit warm but that’s the weather etc
Excellent hotel in great position. Staff very good. Food excellent. Rooms clean and large - great shower and great views!
Very expensive
The breakfast was very tasty.
The bedroom was tiny and far too warm and airless. On arrival we found all the lights were on, main bedroom light, bedside light and bathroom, the curtain was open and sunlight was pouring in. The room was so hot, even with the window open as far as we were allowed; the corridor was cooler. Reception sent up a fan but it was very noisy so couldn't leave it on overnight.
We both spent the night on top of the being but neither of us slept well.
When I spoke with the manager about it in the morning he apologised but said nothing could be done about it and didn't give any refund.
The location is great. Hotel stunning and very clean .Lovely big room and very comfortable bed.
Dinner and breakfast was very tasty. Staff polite and very professional.
Nothing everything was perfect
Lovely room with wonderful sea view. Lounge and outside areas are excellent when the sun is shining and terrific views.
Hotel in general is quite shabby, lots of paintwork needs refreshing, the carpet in my room very threadbare and bathroom flooring dingy. I pulled out the bedside cabinet for access to a plug point and very dusty behind.
Unfortunately the weather was hot when we visited so even with an extra fan the room was hot.
There were school proms on in the evenings which we were advised about shortly after booking which didn’t affect the stay at all.
Lovely traditional hotel in a great location.
Room was too warm
The location is great and the bar and lounge areas are extremely comfortable with lovely views of the sea.
Rooms were slightly tired
Location, lounge, bar, breakfast
Size of the bedroom, size of bed, stuffiness of the room
Tusen takk for vidunderlige minner!
Second time staying here and we absolutely love it. Great, comfortable rooms in a fantastic location. The staff are wonderful too
Nothing - all was great!
Prime location and views. Good parking and easy walk into town
It’s tired and employs a lot of young staff who appear undertrained. Service at breakfast is haphazard.
We loved everything about the hotel, especially the breakfast and bar staff. They couldn’t have been better.
We were staying during an exceptionally hot period of weather and could have benefited from an air conditioner. A fan was provided but it wasn’t great.
Great location, particularly if you are arriving by train (also ample parking if not)
Breakfast was a little underwhelming, ok but could be better.
Lovely lovely lovely. All great….location, views, room, bar, outdoor spaces, pool/jacuzzi/sauna, breakfast, staff. Thank you, will be back 😃
The hotel is a beautiful historic building in a great location with lovely gardens and plenty of parking. The lounge and bar areas are attractive and make the most of the views, and all of the staff we met were friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately the bedroom was disappointing and didn’t reflect the character of the rest of the hotel. It felt tired and in need of refurbishment, with worn carpets, poorly finished paintwork and a very basic bathroom. The room was small, warm with no air conditioning, and the fan provided wasn’t particularly effective. The bed was also small and not especially comfortable. Our room had no meaningful view, looking onto the side of another building through frosted glass. One bathrobe was dirty, and some of the bathroom sealant was mouldy. Breakfast was adequate but fairly average, with ingredients that felt more budget than expected.
The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. Great location for the beach and proximity to town centre.
