Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel

Our family of eight (including grandparents and teenagers) spent four nights at Finch Bay before boarding our Lindblad expedition cruise, and it exceeded every expectation.

The experience actually began months before we arrived. We had already booked our Lindblad cruise and were considering their pre-cruise extension for convenience. After researching other options, Finch Bay stood out, and working with Carolina Escobar made the decision easy. She was responsive, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive throughout the planning process. Her communication gave us complete confidence before we ever stepped foot on the island.

Once we arrived, Alfonso took over and made us feel like VIPs. He was genuinely one of the highlights of our stay. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, especially for my older mother and father-in-law. His kindness, patience, and attention to detail never went unnoticed. In fact, every member of the Finch Bay team was warm, professional, and eager to help. The level of hospitality was truly flawless.

We purchased a package that included airport transportation, and we are so glad we did. From the moment we landed, every transfer was seamless and stress-free, allowing us to simply enjoy the experience. The package also included the kayaking and Sea Lion excursion, both of which were fantastic. These extras added tremendous value and made our stay at Finch Bay even more memorable.

The hotel itself is beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect place to unwind before or after an expedition. We absolutely loved spending afternoons by the pool with a cocktail in hand. Speaking of cocktails...don't leave without ordering the Coconut Paloma. It may be one of the best drinks we've ever had! While beverages aren't included in the meal package, they were very reasonably priced and absolutely worth it.

We also chose the all-inclusive dining package and would do it again without hesitation. Every lunch and dinner featured a thoughtfully prepared three-course menu with two choices for each course. If nothing appealed to us, we could order from the regular menu (with only a few exceptions), giving us plenty of flexibility. The quality of the food was outstanding, and every meal became something we looked forward to. Our teenagers preferred ordering from the regular menu each time, so the package probably wasn't as worthwhile for them, but for the adults, it was an excellent value.

Finch Bay provided the perfect introduction to the Galápagos. Between the exceptional service, outstanding food and drinks, beautiful property, thoughtful excursions, and seamless coordination with our Lindblad cruise, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would recommend Finch Bay without hesitation.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Finch Bay Hotel, where I celebrated my birthday, and it couldn’t have been more special.

From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome. Their warmth, kindness, and attention to detail made my stay truly memorable. The service was exceptional throughout, and nothing was ever too much trouble.

The food was delicious, the amenities were excellent, and the hotel has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The beautiful beach is the perfect place to unwind, with stunning surroundings that make you feel like you’re in paradise.

A huge thank you to everyone at Finch Bay Hotel for making my birthday so memorable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Galápagos Islands and would love to return one day.

The Finch Bay hotel is an excellent (the best?) hotel on Galapagos: great rooms, nice swimming pool, excellent restaurant. But what was most outstanding is the personnel. All of them make your stay perfect. I recommend to book the Finch Bay offered excursions to other islands. These are fantastic! Unfortunetaly we did not make use of the spa. Carolina Escobar was our agent and arranged all bookings and reservations. She made sure that our travel to our bucketlist destination Galapagos was amazing and another chapter to our forever great travel memories.

Just one thing may be a little better. On the cruise ship I felt we had a better internet ( wifi) than at the hotel. But nothing disturbing…

Gorgeous property, spacious rooms. Relaxing pool area. Good WiFi, plenty of activities. Hotel shuttle boat to take you across to town always available within a few minutes.

A lovely hotel . Nothing was too much trouble , everyone made us feel very welcome and looked after us . Food was delicious, room was very nice , and we would be happy to return .

Lovely setting and layout

We absolutely loved our stay at Finch Bay . It came at the end of a 6 day Galapagos Cruise which was also great but really lovely to spend time on land . Loved the complimentary excursions to Tortuga bay , a nature walk and star gazing . Food was good and the complimentary water taxi to the main town worked really well . All the staff were really good - particularly Alfonso and Endique and also thanks to Melissa for helping us book and providing lots of information before our stay .

Beautiful hotel in a great location.
Its own beach, boat to transfer you across the bay and daily excursions activities from nature walks, stargazing and short lectures.
They also have their own yacht for excursions, which is a high standard compared to all the other boats we did trips on.
Staff are obliging, enthusiastic and work hard to ensure a happy stay. Good food, including a wide choice of breakfast options. A perfect end to a fantastic two weeks in Ecuador .

I can't say enough good things about our stay at Finch Bay! It's an amazing property and what makes it so special is the incredible staff and GM Anna who was on property all the time interacting with the guests! Every staff member we talked to was so kind and helpful; we felt like family by the time we left. They even gave us a small gift for our 2 new grandchildren that will be born in June.
The food was delicious at the restaurant, as well as the breakfast buffet!
We also took two excursions on their private yacht which were well worth it, due to the personalized service, amazing guides and great lunches!

A truly memorable stay. Finch Bay Resort offered the perfect base for exploring the Galapagos — comfortable rooms, attentive staff, and excellent organization of island excursions. Finch Bay is an oasis within an oasis, literally. Our journey to discover the Galapagos started with a lot research about the different islands, different boat cruise options, and the wide array of hotel choices. Finch Bay, helped by the multi-lingual and very accessible destination expert Melissa Altamirano, very nicely solved for all of our interests. It offered us an incredible eco-friendly location from which to launch snorkeling trips, white-glove service, excellent local and international cuisine, with close proximity to the charming village town of Puerto Ayora.

WOW! We had a fantastic stay at Finch Bay. We stayed for 5 days and had a wonderful time. The staff are amazing. Especially, Alfonso!!!! He is incredible. The grounds were beautiful, the food amazing. They have several free walks and activities.
Take advantage of them. The spa is also wonderful. I can't say enough good things. Book your stay here asap.

Our stay at Finch Bay Hotel in the Galapagos was nothing short of exceptional. Set on the island of Santa Cruz, the hotel is beautifully positioned just a short boat ride from the port in Puerto Ayora, giving it a wonderfully secluded and tranquil feel while still being easily accessible.
We booked our trip relatively last minute and were struggling to find availability online, so we decided to contact the hotel directly and we are so glad we did. Carolina Escobar from Metropolitan Touring handled our request, and she truly made the entire experience seamless from start to finish. Not only did she secure us a fantastic room, but she also arranged an unforgettable tour that became a highlight of our trip.
Our package included thoughtful extras like a ceviche class with the head chef and airport transfers, which made a huge difference. From the moment we landed, everything was taken care of, we didn’t have to think about logistics at all. The entire trip was incredibly well organised, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy the experience.
Carolina was instrumental in making our stay so special. She was responsive, attentive and went above and beyond to tailor the trip to our preferences and sense of adventure. It genuinely felt like a personalised experience.
We stayed in an Evolution Suite, which felt completely immersed in nature. The design of the room perfectly balanced comfort, relaxation, and environmental consciousness. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the glass refillable bottles and the personal water bottles we could refill anytime at the bar.
The staff at the hotel were consistently warm and friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Alfonso was fantastic at suggesting and organising additional tours, helping us make the most of our time on the island.
The food throughout our stay was good, with a great variety of dishes that were both fresh and beautifully prepared. They had gluten free options (e.g. cassava waffles at breakfast), which made gluten free dining enjoyable.
Overall, Finch Bay offers a rare combination of natural beauty, comfort, and outstanding service. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Galapagos.
