A very disappointing stay—not a five-star experience
Our stay at Elite World Istanbul Florya fell well below what we expected from a five-star hotel.
Check-in was advertised as 2 pm. We arrived at 2:30 pm, exhausted after our flight, only to be told our room was not ready. The receptionist seemed unconcerned and offered tea, but showed little acknowledgement of the inconvenience. After waiting around 40 minutes, I went back to ask for an update and was told the room was ready. Nobody had bothered to let us know.
The most upsetting incident happened after we finally reached our room and fell asleep. About an hour later, a staff member opened our door with his hotel key and entered without our permission. I woke up in my underwear to someone telling me they had brought us a “gift”—a few apples and oranges. Whatever the intention, this was an unacceptable intrusion into our privacy. We spent the rest of our stay worried that someone might walk in again.
The room itself had several problems. There were no disposable toothbrushes or toothpaste, and no hairdryer provided. The air conditioning failed to cool the room properly, leaving it uncomfortably hot. The TV did not work, and although we called for assistance, nobody came to fix it. The blankets also felt poor quality.
Breakfast offered plenty of variety, but the quality was disappointing. Most of the food seemed oily and cheaply made, and some items appeared past their best. Cups were frequently unavailable. Of the two coffee machines, one was usually either out of milk or not working, leaving guests queuing for the other.
There were a few positives: the hotel’s Grill restaurant was decent, and there were good restaurants nearby, particularly Saraykapi Tava, where the food was excellent. The hotel also arranged fixed-price taxis to and from the airport, which was convenient.

In the Reception mr. Kagan was the perfect guy! We have a problem with TV in the room and he solve it with the best way. This hotel in Floria region worth the money. Good clean renovated rooms. Very good staff especially mr. Kagan ! It was the second time where I staid there and I will do it again in my next visiting!

Tatilim sırasında Elite World Istanbul Florya otelinde konakladım ve her şeyden son derece memnun kaldım. Otelin konumu, temizliği ve sunduğu olanaklar tek kelimeyle harikaydı. Özellikle zengin ve lezzetli çeşitleriyle sabah kahvaltısı güne harika başlamamı sağladı. Günün yorgunluğunu atmak için tercih ettiğim SPA merkezi ise son derece huzurlu, temiz ve dinlendiriciydi.
Personelin güler yüzlü, samimi ve her konuda yardımcı yaklaşımı kendimi evimde gibi hissettirmemi sağladı. Odalar son derece konforlu ve ferahtı. İstanbul'da huzurlu, konforlu ve kaliteli bir konaklama arayan herkese burayı gönül rahatlığıyla tavsiye ediyorum. Emeği geçen tüm ekibe çok teşekkür ederim.
The breakfast was good, had something to cater to everyone’s palate. I enjoyed it a lot.
The run was not exactly as clean as my first stay there last year. It really wasn’t bad but my previous stay was cleaner. Asked for a free room upgrade and was given but I’m not sure if it was truly an upgrade. It came with a balcony but almost no view. I’m not sure about that free upgrade😊
