The room was very nice. The bed was really comfortable and the views incredible.
I didn't want to.leave.
Loved the hotel and its location. It's right where all the cable cars go through so you can use the cable cars or within walkable distance to different attractions. Be aware that the hotel is located on a hill but use the cable cars. Staff was friendly and helpful. Although parking is expensive, I like that it was on location and safe.
Only one elevator was working but they are in process of fixing the other elevators and upgrading them.

Parking could be complimentary…
The location felt very safe which was what I was looking for. I didn't feel there was a lot around in terms of restaurants in the area but plenty in walking distance or a 10 minute uber.
I'm glad I upgraded to a city view room, it was the best part of the room. My room was spacious and comfortable.
The bar was lovely and the bar staff were great.
I found there wasn't much sound proofing when I was in my room. Mostly, the hotel was quiet but one night I was woken up to the guest in the next room talking on the phone at 2am.
I was disappointed to find there was next to no bathroom amenities. Only soap, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner. I would expect in a 4 star hotel to get more than that. There was no robe or slippers which I feel usually comes as standard.
I was very disappointed by the breakfast offer. I pre-paid $50 AUD each day for breakfast, to find out this meant I could only choose from 4 breakfast items and was not allowed to have the buffet. The breakfast cost $30 AUD, if I had of just ordered on the day. I feel ripped off and would not recommend pre-paying for breakfast.
There also wasn't many staff at the front desk, you were often waiting to be seen.
I would not stay here again and would try the Intercontinental next time, which is just next door.
Best breakfast of all the hotels we stayed. And our room on the 7th floor was superb. Quiet and comfortable stay with great city views.

Nice location,walking distance to many of the city sights. Old hotel but nostalgic. Rooms were clean, staff was helpful and friendly. Definitely would stay again, as it seemed to be in a safe area .
Location is great. Been staying there for years. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially young asian woman at the front deak. Also enjoyed chatting with Tony the Bartender and he always remembered my first name when I came back!
Front desk configuration looks like an attempt to be 'hip'. Couldn't figure out what it was when I first walked in! Also, price for buffet breakfast seems inordinately high. $39 for scrambled eggs and bacon...really?
