To describe Swiss-Belhotel Kendari as a 4-star hotel is, frankly, a profound misrepresentation. My experience at this property was not merely disappointing; it was an astonishing example of how hospitality standards can collapse beneath even the most basic threshold of acceptability.
The room was visibly old and neglected, with furnishings marred by stains, cigarette burns on the seating despite the room being designated non-smoking, and an overall condition that reflected years of poor maintenance. The television displayed a persistent white line across the bottom of the screen, the wallpaper was peeling away from the walls, and the entire environment conveyed decay rather than comfort. Most alarming, however, was the bathroom, which was overwhelmed by humidity, a disgusting toilet seat, unclean surfaces, and an unmistakable sense of bacterial neglect (see photos). It felt unhygienic, unprofessional, and wholly unfit for paying guests.
From an objective standpoint, this hotel does not merit a 4-star classification. Indeed, based on the condition of the room alone, it struggles to justify even a 1-star evaluation. The disparity between the hotel’s marketed image and its actual physical state is so extreme that it borders on deception.
It is a disgrace that guests are expected to sleep in accommodations of this quality. This was my first stay here, and it will unquestionably be my last. For travelers seeking a genuine 4-star experience in Kendari, CLARO Kendari, located next door, is vastly superior and more accurately reflects the standards one should expect. I would strongly advise anyone considering Swiss-Belhotel Kendari to book CLARO or explore any other available alternative.
The hotel management appears to demonstrate a significant lack of professionalism and very limited experience in the hospitality industry. This situation is deeply disappointing.

This hotel is incredibly friendly and has a special atmosphere. The staff are outstanding and will really make you feel at home. The pool and the restaurant alongside are also very atmospheric. The breakfast is outstanding too!
