Not a 4 star hotel
Pros:

I do not recommend this hotel. It was part of a tour package that we booked so we had no choice of hotel. It was booked for us. It’s supposed to be a 4 star but to me it was not. It is extremely outdated and creepy looking inside. There’s creepy pictures hanging everywhere. The air conditioning did not work well. It was very uncomfortable in our room. The one tiny little elevator didn’t work most of the time. The only good thing about the hotel is the location.

Amazing - just not the way you’d want.
Pros:

The Santa Brigida boasts a 4 star rating and some excellent reviews. Trip advisor blocks my commentary on that!

Nevertheless on every individual 4 star criterion of a hotel in the UK, the Santa Brigida scores 0/10. Let's take the first three criteria. 4 star = "welcoming, high visible, stylish entrance" - Santa Brigida has a street level intercom for entrance to a dingy, bin storage/car port, at the end of which threatens a miniscule, dangerous looking lift we were too scared to use, choosing instead three flights of poorly lit stairs to a bare reception desk'. 4 star = "high quality, superior comfort, premium bedding etc..." - Santa Brigida fails everywhere you despondently gaze, as a example look at the attached picture of my bedside table with is tiny sloping shelf, shadeless naked bulb and exposed electrics. 4 star = "extensive and premium menus.... hot food... live cooking stations etc" - Santa Brigida menu is OK only if you want to eat yesterday's cake, drink cheap powdered coffee from 1970s (in ITALY!) in a dreary side room. Despite paying 4 days in advance we gave it a miss after day one.
I wish I had more space to vent, but let me finish on the corridor artwork, two photos attached, which I can only assume were portraits of former guests coming to terms with the experience.
The location was good, though not a 4 star criterion and Naples was great once we had exited to the street.

Cons:

Tutto. La stanza piccola con forte odore di chiuso, il bagno senza riscaldamento, senza bidet, lavabo piccolissimo, porta senza maniglia interna. Pavimento stanza inadeguato, televisione piccolissima per la distanza dal letto con solo 4 canali memorizzati. Hotel che non può essere considerato un 4 stelle. Augusto. Senza finestre e con le luci che si accendo al passaggio delle persone.
Davvero deludente rispetto a come viene rappresentato attraverso le foto.

Hotel situato al 2° piano di un vecchio edificio, reception accogliente, pulito, ottima colazione, stanza con balconcino. A due passi dal teatro San Carlo e Augusteo. Sicuramente ci torneremo.

Pros:

Mi è piaciuta molto la pulizia della camera e lo staff è super disponibile e competente. Ottima la prima colazione, anche se integrerei qualcosina anche sul salato.

Cons:

L'accesso principale all'hotel, sembra l'entrata di un garage e non di un albergo a 4 stelle. La doccia in camera l'avrei oscurata un pò di più e non rendendo visibile.
