the bar area was really lovely and relaxing for a drink in the afternoon and then breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious and served to us by the most attentive and friendly efficient staff

Great stay
Pros:

Wonderful views and overall stay.
Good sized bedroom, lovely ensuite and great access to swimming pool and sauna.
Lovely food and comfortable lounge/bar.
Great access to the lake for beautiful swims and walks.

Cons:

All was fabulous, if i were being picky I felt for what the hotel offer in terms of the personal touch and cost and the market they are aiming towards then I would have expected more toiletries in the room, a hair conditioner and hand/body cream would have been nice, these also were not available for purchase.
I also think, that despite breakfast being very nice with great choice that some food/drinks should be available for self service as staff were very busy and stressed. But appreciate they prefer table service.

Beautiful hotel, with fabulous breakfast and great staff, would definitely highly recommend.
Pros:

Beautiful hotel in gorgeous gardens with a great view down to lake Windermere. Room was lovely, absolutely spotless and they even provided a ‘doggy bag’ for our Yorkie with a ball and treat (and poo bags!) Breakfast was delicious with lots of options and really nice staff too. Thanks for having us!

Cons:

It was perfect for us but being on a hill won’t suit everyone.

Pros:

Breakfast room and dinner excellent.All the staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble.

Getting rid of that hill to the hotel 😀but we new we would have a climb.

Cons:

The bedsheets had some rips and holes in them
The heating was on quite high in the bathroom during a heatwave, so the bathroom was quite uncomfortable to use. We did request this was turned down but never noticed a difference
Some days it took quite a while for breakfast to be served. Sometimes around 20 minutes before your order was taken. The staff were always very nice and apologetic about this though, can't fault them
There were some hairs on the bedding and in the shower when we checked in - unsure whether from previous guests or cleaners
