Hyatt Place Charlotte Downtown

Overall great stay. Valet was superb I didn’t get the guy name at check in but very friendly great customer service. Alex was working Valet when we checked out he went the extra mile to service all customers in a timely fashion. He did not complain although he was working alone. These are the people you keep on your team!!!

The whole experience was wonderful. I had a great and will definitely be visiting again.

Our stay at the Hyatt was very nice. The staff were all polite and eagered to provide assistance when needed. My only issues are, I needed to extend my stay way prior to our arrival (like 3 weeks prior), so I tried calling for assistance. They informed me that I would need to either cancel my whole reservation and reserve again with the extended day or book another room for the 1 day. That didn't make sense to me given the fact that we were able to stay in our same room and I had to pay the additional fees TWICE. It was for the R&B Tour so I didn't want to cancel and then I couldn't rebook. There should be a way where the hotel should be able to extend someone's stay without having to rebook and/or make another reservation for the extended stay and pay more fees. Also, it does not state on the website that there is paid garage parking (which is cheaper than valet). When we arrived, we asked the valet worker if this was the only parking and he stated "yes". When we were checking out and waiting for our car to come around, we noticed there was a parking garage connected to the hotel. This should be made aware on the website and also, valet staff should have let us know and given us that option. It almost felt forced for us to do valet parking and pay the $45 a day.

I booked a room at 1 in the morning because my flight had got delayed and I needed some place to stay over night. The site did not specify that I could not check in until 3 in the afternoon... I never even got to check in. What is the point of allowing check-ins if they cannot be reserved until the END of the day... THEN it said I couldn't get a refund. Practically a scam.

The hotel room was larger, but there was not any additional furniture in that space. There wasn’t enough hangers in the wardrobe. The location of the lobby was in an awkward area; it was on the 10th floor and the service was not that great It did have an awesome rooftop restaurant. But you pay for the experience. The breakfast in the morning was mediocre at best.

Check-in is located on the 10th floor, and when we arrived, the lobby was uncomfortably hot and humid. The hallways were also very noisy throughout our stay, especially in the middle of the night between 2 & 4 AM and reaching the front desk by phone was nearly impossible, no one answered the phones.
another disappointment was the way the roof rooftop restaurant and bar is advertised. The hotel promotes it as one of its amenities with beautiful skyline views, giving the impression it’s part of the Hyatt experience. What they don’t make clear is that it operates independently. We were also surprised to learn that guests are not permitted to take photos of themselves or the view. That policy should be disclosed upfront, especially when the rooftop scenery is used as a selling point for this hotel
This trip was meant to celebrate a special milestone in our marriage. Sadly, the hotel experience added unnecessary frustration instead of comfort. We expected better of the Hyatt based on previous experiences in different locations.Based on our experience,I would not recommend staying here

Very upscale feel to the hotel from arrival to departure. It was very clean, quiet and every staff member we encountered was friendly & helpful, including the valet parking attendants. I was there to attend the AC/DC Concert, and it is about a 15-minute walk to the Bank of America Stadium. Downtown Charlotte is beautiful and we enjoyed seeing some sights as we walked to dinner & then the stadium. Breakfast had a large offering and was delicious.
