Great hotel, staff and location.
Pros:

Great location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I loved to be able to pop in for a drink and snacks in the afternoon in the breakfast hall. I also appreciated the water bottles that I could get in the lobby when I got back to the hotel room. I have stayed in in Westhouse before and I will definitely stay again. Comfortable bed and shower.

This hotel was a gem! I loved this stay.
Pros:

The room was spacious and immaculate with a beautiful view and very quiet, I got amazing sleep. The breakfast served each morning was delightful and fueled me through the day. The location was very convenient to the subway, broadway, and Central Park. But most of all the staff went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable! I would jump at the chance to stay here again!

Great space and location for the money
Pros:

We were in suite 2105, with a king bed, separate living room. VERY comfortable bed and sheets (and I am pretty picky about that), pillows not so much. Big outdoor space (for NY) with table and chairs for four and view straight down Seventh to the big signs and neon. Separate living room with comfortable chairs and big TV. The 23rd floor has an amenities lounge (available to all, not elite) with a pretty comprehensive hot and cold breakfast, latte machines, and so on. Apparently from 5 through the evening they also put out a supper spread, but we were never there to try it. Location great, surrounded by good restaurants, easy walk to the theater district. (Just a block and a half from Nordstrom!) DOWNSIDE—small bathroom with bath/shower combo. I don’t mind the small bath but I much prefer a walk-in shower. (They did show us a suite down the hall with a walk-in shower, but the room was not as big, nor was the outdoor space). The good side—you couldn’t touch that amount of indoor and outdoor space anywhere else in the city for that price. And location, location, location.

Nice enough, but question the value
Pros:

We decided to stay here because it was close enough to Times Square, but we were hoping for a little less noise. Also, while we were not expecting huge rooms in NYC, we were hoping the “luxury collection” billing for the hotel would be a little nicer.

Our king bed room was $800 per night, but I was able to use Hilton points to offset the cost. The Rio size and bathroom were really the same as NYC Times Square hotels we have stayed at recently for a couple hundred less. I did like the complimentary lounge for all guests and room service was prompt. I wish the HVAC was quieter. They can definitely upgrade these with newer models.

Location was nice, but Times Square noise was still louder than we wished. All theaters were within a 15 minutes walk and Central Park was only a few blocks away.

Bad customer service and not worth the extortionate resort fee
Pros:

Not worth the extortionate resort fee. Starting with the rooms, they were a reasonable size, nicely decorated and the beds were extremely comfy. However, the view from many rooms looks directly at a brick wall and there is no ceiling lights in the room, only lamps, so the room was extremely dark making it hard for me to get ready even in the middle of the day. Also two of the lamps in the room were broken and the toilet holder also repeatedly broke. Certainly not 5* service.

On to the customer service, we mainly dealt with a man at reception - I forget his name but he appeared to be white and had black curly hair. He was quite unhelpful whenever we spoke to him and he did not listen to anything we said just spoke at us or over us. One time we asked if he could split $10 so we could rip the housekeeper and he just said he couldn’t help rather than suggesting nearby places that maybe could help. He seemed miserable all the time. We dealt with a black woman on checkout who was lovely and the doorman, a black man, was also friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The breakfast was good quality but extremely small selection and pretty much the same everyday. The “free” soft drinks throughout the day were appreciated but the evening indulgence hours was lacking. The wine and beer provided was extremely cheap and not nice and the food provided was not high quality. We didn’t use it most nights as a result. Definitely not worth $55 per person, per night.

My experience with Westhouse was already not pleasant from the outset as the booking platform, Opodo hid the extortionate mandatory resort fees ($55 per person, per night plus taxes) which is illegal.

I wouldn’t say this is a 5 star hotel, save your money and go to many of the nicer 4 star hotels in the area.

Very Nice Hotel in Manhattan
Pros:

I stayed at WestHouse Hotel for one week with my mother and sister. We enjoyed our stay very much. When I come to New York again, most probably I will choose this hotel to stay.

The staff, including the front desk, concierge, housekeeping, and terrace, were extremely helpful in any case during our stay. Especially in the Terrace area, we enjoyed ourselves very much thanks to all the workers.

The terrace area, which you can use for beverages and snacks all day, is a very nice area to freshen up. Moreover, the dinner and breakfast are very good considering the other hotels in the area.

Cons:

Even though the room with two queen beds has sufficient space, the storage area is very limited for three people. Therefore, we mostly stored our belongings in our suitcases. The storage area should be enhanced.

In many hotels, there are adaptor converters, considering the European to American type. However, the hotel could not provide this.

Perfect Mother’s Day Stay in NYC
Pros:

We had such a wonderful Mother’s Day stay at the WestHouse Hotel New York. The location was perfect, the hotel was beautiful and comfortable, and the overall experience felt warm and welcoming from start to finish.

A special thank you to Sonia on the Terrace, she was absolutely fantastic. She went out of her way to make us feel taken care of and added such a personal touch to our trip. It truly made our Mother’s Day weekend in NYC even more memorable. We can’t wait to come back!

Dirty, overrated, needs updating
Pros:

Conceptually good, but overall, we would nor return or recommend. Great location, but everything else was lacking.

Value, cleanliness, overall service, noise level, amenities were all similar to a 2-star hotel. When we arrived, there were pills on the carpet, dust everywhere, splashes of fluid on things. The room was dark and poorly lit. The chandelier was sticky, dirty and dusty (it hangs low so easy to see every time you walk into the room). Bathroom was mildewy and moldy and the shower drain was already full of water prior to turning the shower on. It immediately flooded the shower floor and drained slowly. Poor ventilation in the bathroom. When we visited, it was 60s (F) outside during the day and 50s overnight. It was still 72-75 in the room with AC on -- poor climate control. Windows open a couple inches, but no screen, so probably not wise to keep open overnight. No microwave. No coffeemaker in room, although there is one on 23 and also a Starbucks next door. None of the USB ports worked. Limited outlets. Top sheet was missing on bed but replaced when we requested room cleaning. Mattress was hard, uncomfortable and had dips in it. Lots of street noise, construction going on across the street, at window level (so we kept shades down most of the visit due to construction workers out during the day).

The doorman was great. Friendly, helpful, pleasant. Same with Nick at the front desk. Everyone else was aloof or rude.

This was our 3rd hotel that week but overall the worst of all three. The night before we stayed at a Tapestry hotel with a much better room and experience. We would have much preferred a better experience in a non-luxury hotel.

We've previously stayed at the Times Square Hilton Garden Inn and had a much better experience overall (even in noise level). The food at WestHouse was about 3 to 4 stars and was equally or less appetizing than the food at the Hilton Garden Inn.
