Excellent centrally located apartment
Pros:

A Great apartment - spacious well equipped in a quiet but central area. We stayed for a week as a couple and would recommend it as an excellent central base close to the beaches and surf clubs and easy drive into hinterland regions for bush walks

Dated and desperately needs a deep-clean
Pros:

The location is excellent, cross the street for the beach access and walk to Cotton Tree centre, cafe's and shops in minutes. If the playground had not been under repair, it would have been great to have across the street, too.

Cons:

The unit was not clean. Not just from the previous occupant (half eaten biscuit and sucked-on lollies were left around the unit, someone else's hair was in the shower) but it has not been deep-cleaned in a long time. You can forgive a 40+ year old building for having some wear-and-tear, corroded tap fittings, bugs in the light fixtures, that sort of thing. But beyond these, unit 11 has mould on the ensuite ceiling, peeling paint, holes in the back of the bedroom door, chips out of the kitchen cabinets. The vents for the air-con and ventilation in the doors are filthy with dust and mould and peeling paint. The carpet is thread-bare and has stains. One of the single beds has a rusty screw poking out from the broken wheel on the base. All of the internal doors are swollen and don't shut properly or quietly. The stairwells have dozens of spiders living in the cracks. The kitchen drawers don't have stoppers on them and my husband nearly had a drawer full of knives fall on his foot. The sheets were clean but the bed blankets and quilts are OLD and itchy and just don't feel or look nice.
When we booked the room, it was advertised as a partial ocean view- definitely could not see the ocean from the first floor.

Lovely stay
Pros:

Everything. Location, staff, facilities, everything was good. Ease of parking, spacious apartment, heated pool being a highlight.

Cons:

Very minor, bedding hadn't been washed, and apartment smelled of leftover food when checking in. Easily remedied as there was a washing machine.

Spa was not well maintained and did not have enough water in it. Many broken parts. In our rooms, rear gardens needed a little attention but front deck was fine
