In a great location
The wifi didn’t work at all. The rooms were barely clean. A layer of dust on all surfaces and horrible non laundered throws on the bed.
One poor guy seemed to be doing all the jobs with no help.
Location was great.
Room needs a deep clean. Light shade, skirting boards, shower etc really dirty.
Room and breakfast
overpriced food and drink in bar compared to other pubs in town
Welcoming staff, great pub next door, great breakfast
location
staff couldnt care less. cleanliness is dreadful. breakfast inedible.
Great location, lovely bar.
Bit dated, drain smell in the room
Interesting, old building/inn next to Warkworth Castle. Great breakfast room with good breakfast e.g. Craster kippers. Plentiful free parking.
Requires some updating e.g. carpets, toilet seat, paintwork. Beds were variable.
Good location, right opposite Warkworth Castle & handy for exploring the coast.
Friendly staff & nice food. Good breakfast & had a nice supper in the bar & enjoyed the quiz.
Comfy bed & a good sized room which needs updating & a deep clean, then it would be great!
Entering the hotel we opened the grubby doors into a small reception area. This old place could do with a big refresh & deep clean.
Quite dusty, especially when looking for a socket to plug in my phone charger. Dusty skirting boards & big heavy curtains that didn’t close well, one was hanging off the fitting.
We were given the Secret Room, a large dusty room apparently used as the bridal suite! Everything was gold, the bed, furniture & huge throne like chairs. There was also a free standing bath which was right in front of a large window, so unless you could get the huge curtains to close, you’d have to be an exhibitionists to have a bath!
The tv was on the wrong wall, there was nowhere comfortable to sit to watch it. I’d take out the free standing bath & move the ‘thrones’ to the other side of the room to watch the tv, or move the tv to the bathroom wall.
Shower room also dusty, wobbly hot tap & the shower door was broken at the bottom. Very difficult to turn the shower on & off as knob was faulty. This was all communicated to the staff on our departure.
Wanted to stay somewhere for one night after visiting nearby Cragside.Met by friendly Reception staff who was also running the very busy bar next door(Newcastle were playing at home so very busy)The room was clean and comfortable. We chose to eat at the pub next door when it quietened down and we had the Sunday roast beef served with freshly cooked vegetables which was delicious. The breakfast again was served by friendly staff and excellent.Visited nearby Amble and had a walk along the beach which is stunning.
Yes the hotel is showing signs of in need of a refurb but we didn’t let that put us off.
De locatie is prachtig met een kasteel tegenover en een pub ernaast. Heerlijk ontbijt.
Nice room, lovely food, great location right opposite the Castle. Would recommend to family and friends.
The shower was a bit slow and could do with another shelf in the bathroom and only one hook on the back of the door to hang one towel.
Hard to open the bedroom window. Bolt was there, but handle was missing.
Very friendly staff and excellent location
My room and bathroom were not clean. Everything was dusty, very tired looking, bathroom floor was dirty and sticky. Carpet in the room and communal areas was very dirty. Generally there was a weird smell in the hotel, like old cooking oil. Some kind of loud generator outside could be heard during the night even through closed windows. With some proper care and attention and a deep clean this place could be a million times better.
Breakfast excellent
TV not working - bar man sent to fix it- he said ‘I haven’t a clue’
No notification festival on directly & noisily outside bedroom windows
Curtain hanging off rail at end
Some staff were pleasant & very helpful
Toilet in room had not been cleaned. Had to ask for more towels as only enough for one person. Cooked breakfast was mainly cold when it arrived.
Lovely old building, breakfast room was really grand, staff all friendly, great location right next to the castle, good shower, great that had free parking and we could leave our car during the day
Room wasn’t the cleanest, headboard thick with dust, was were the lights, bed was so uncomfortable, also need to invest in new pillows, room so small, especially when staying with two dogs. toilet would barely flush, breakfast was ok, maybe expected too much
Location . Quality of bathroom towels
Out of date furniture . Room needed dusting. Serious dusting of blinds.Carpet in public areas was very dirty.
We had a family room/ triple room. The decor was nice. The property had many original features.
The staff were helpful, they allowed us to park there before check in.
The food was great.
The beds were uncomfortable.
Location
Old, dinghy, no fans (or AC) noisy, and family room was tiny
Good location for stopover on my way home from completing the SC2C bike ride.
Excellent dinner and breakfast.
Very good cycle storage.
The single room was a bit tight for sorting all my gear - but managed ok.
