Staff
When we arrived to check in we were told that they managed to squeeze us in I told him that we had been booked for two months and he said that’s booking.com for you and smiled. We were given the managers room. The room window was dirty and hole along sill and the extension for the TV had a burnt hole in plug so very dangerous. When returning to the bar it felt like the barman did not want anyone in the bar so he could close.
Location
£86 for a single bed in a tiny room which was grubby. No parking, no breakfast availability.
Handy location for the centre of town. Rooms quiet, set back in a courtyard to the rear of the hotel. Pub at the front is good, but doesn't open at lunchtime. The room was clean.
Could do with a bit of a refurb, maybe a new carpet. Although the description says car parking available, we never saw a space available. We parked round the corner on a residential street
Location is perfect for City Centre. Stayed here before.
The location is the only good thing
A very outdated thrown together with old damaged furniture, needs painting , updating, no toilet brush in the bathroom, fusty marks round the shower
Ideally situated
No windows in room. Shower needed attention
The location was convenient. The room was comfortable and fine for what I needed.
Staff were a little difficult to find to check out.
Not much
Never saw staff. Paid for breakfast and parking received neither
No towels provided had to phone host no one on site he said help your self in cupboard not sure what was clean or not hot water took about 5 minutes to come through not good at all
Nothing
Vastly overpriced for what it had to offer. could not bear to stay.
Bar man was nice as was the pub. Room was large.
There was a large slatted blind with a 30cm square cut out and no curtains so no privacy for getting changed its on ground floor. Also woke up at 4am as sun streamed through. Smaller very musty. No water pressure. Bedding was Claen but the pillows were heavily stains and not completely inside cases. Very used mattress. Bar shut at 21:00. No internet. Wardrobe was broken and carpet very stained.
Great location and great staff.
The location was good and staff were nice
The room was not fit for purpose I am afraid. There was water damage/ mould on the walls that had been painted over. The beds (there were twin singles) which I could not see in the pictures on the app, the springs had completely gone so when you sat/laid on the bed you just sunk. There were cobwebs all around the room. It smelt very musty, everything like furniture and linen was tired. There was a strange noise like a fridge running or generator but there wasn’t one in the room. The bathroom was not very nice and I am afraid we could not stay there, we left.
The room was pleasantly situated in what had been a stable yard. It was decently equipped with the usual things and contained a very comfortable bed.
The trouble began before I arrived. I phoned the number given for the hotel, but it turned out to be OYO central and the extension I wanted failed to answer three times. When I arrived I felt like an intruder, but the young barman was helpful. The room was dark and the bathroom spoiled by an inefficient toilet and lack of hot water. Finally, I asked what time the pub closed, was told 10.30 and came back at 9.30 to find the place in darkness.
