OYO The White Horse, Ripon North Yorkshire

On entering the room there was a strong smell of damp and damp marks all over the walls. The corner of the shower didn’t seal properly so the bathroom flooded when using it and there was mould above the shower. The toilet barely flushed and had to try multiple times to get it to flush.
The worst part was the bed. 2 of us were staying in the double bed, however the side that I was sleeping on was broken and collapsed. Therefore I had to sleep too to tail with my friend to avoid sinking into the collapsed part of the bad. The fabric around the bottom of the bed was highly stained. We did inform the owner who told us it would be sorted, but apparently not for our stay. He didn’t seem surprised so I would assume that they knew about the problem.
We paid a similar price to stay here as 2 other places on our travels. It wasn’t worth what we paid which upset us the most. We are not picky people, but paying £90 for a broken bed, damp room with mould, leaky shower and none flushing toilet was far too much! Not impressed.

Rude mould and no Wi-Fi and when asked a stained iron after three asks

The size of the room , the awful smell of urine. The filthy dirty conditioning of everything. Cracked basin, poor water supply at the sink. Broken step on entrance to the room. Dirty kettle. The whole experience was disgusting. Not made to feel welcome on arrival.

Parking. The shower needs work. It's mouldy and very small for such a big bathroom. Hot water in basin only luke warm. Pillows could be replaced. Bedside table hadn't been cleaned. I wiped marks off. Lots of cigarette stubs outside bedroom entrance, although ashtrays had been provided outside. No wi-fi available.

It was basic budget. We did not expect luxury but this was basic. There was noise from an air conditioner unit or similar all night so hard to sleep. Television did not work as signal was not strong enough and it kept going off. We were told breakfast was included but they stopped doing breakfast 2 years ago. Expensive for what we got and would not consider booking again

It would have been nice to have soap

2: mould above shower cubicle
3: tiles missing grout
4: shower cubicle not very useful for larger person
5: dirty tiles in bathroom
6: shower leaked to floor , sealant not very good
7: shaver socket cracked couldn't use
8: no teaspoons to go with the free tea and coffee
9: sweet wrapper under the single bed and it had a frayed base
10: room smelt of dampness
11: shower only had tepid heat and didn't run greatly
12: no curtains provided only white blinds for blocking out light not great

Plumbing not the best. Shower running hot and cold during use. Hot sink tap just a dribble. Steep narrow climb up 3 flights to room.

Carpet wasn't clean and was noticeably blood on inside of door and bathroom floor

Shower had no pressure and no heat, (although the unit looked new). No soap or shampoo or shower gel in the room but this was put right quickly. The door to the room was difficult to open and close. The toilet flush kept sticking and running water was difficult to stop. There was no dinner or breakfast available which was not what the description on Booking .com stated.

Everything apart from location staff useless and rooms not fit for purpose

No local info in room, faulty toilet, place ok but pricey for what it was.
