Poloha hotela
Hotel nemohol poskytnúť plnohodnotné raňajky, upratovanie izby.
The room was very spacious especially after a long visit in the nature. I appreciated the modern vibe of the rooms and how central I was to everything. I had a car but found cheap street parking close bye. Its a little far from the airport so don't book an early morning flight.
Central location and quiet, clean, large room. Nothing fancy or anything special that really made it stand out.
Really clean charming place in convenient downtown location. Few nice touches like coffee in room and tile bathrooms.
Hotel Geysir is a modern, clean, and well-maintained hotel. The rooms are comfortable, and the property is in good condition.
Unfortunately, the experience did not feel commensurate with the price. We paid approximately €551 per night for a Deluxe Double Room with Balcony. While the room was pleasant enough, it lacked many of the details one would normally expect at this level.
The “balcony” overlooked a lawn and service area with traffic cones rather than offering a meaningful view. The room was also configured oddly for two guests, with only a single chair at the table.
More surprisingly, bathrobes and slippers were not provided in the room and had to be requested. At this price point, these should simply be standard amenities. The bathrobes that were eventually delivered were rough and uncomfortable, and body lotion was only available for an additional charge. None of these things are expensive, but together they create an impression of unnecessary cost-cutting and a lack of generosity toward guests.
Room service carries a delivery surcharge and our meal arrived without any water, forcing us to use the small complimentary bottle from the bedside table.
The larger issue was service. When I raised some of these concerns, the manager's response was essentially that it was “written on the website.” Whether something is disclosed online misses the point. Hospitality is about the guest experience, not about winning a contractual argument.
The hotel is also quite isolated. Aside from the Geysir attraction itself, there are very few dining or evening alternatives nearby, which makes the quality of the hotel experience even more important.
Hotel Geysir is not a bad hotel. However, based on our experience, it felt undeservedly expensive - not luxurious. The recurring impression was not one of comfort and generosity, but of a property that seemed intent on minimizing what was included while maximizing what was charged.
Zentral gelegen, super freundliches Personal, tolle Zimmer
Ein Kühlschrank im Zimmer wäre toll gewesen. Aber das war auch das Einzige, was mir gefehlt hat.
Cute, chick and modern look. We had a root on the terrace and was very pleased in the morning
No complaints
The reception and room decor are beautiful. Our room was spacious for four people (room 202) and was exceptionally clean. Comfortable beds and great shower. Coffee maker in room that used non plastic coffee pods. Location cannot be beat. Close to a multitude of coffee shops, restaurants, supermarkets and shopping.
Hotel is generally nice but 2 issues - first, they really should address parking better. There is none and you have to find parking on the street some distance away. Advance warning of this would have been helpful.
Second, and more bothersome, we checked in and had two rooms - all was fine until the code for my daughter’s room stopped working. We went to the front desk and when asked for name and room number we were told we did not have that room and were spoken to like we were idiots. We informed the desk clerk that we had - in fact checked into that room and my daughter’s stuff was in it as we spoke. He told us - no someone else is coming or that room but eventually agreed to go with us to the room. We then went up and into the room and he could see she was entirely unpacked and had occupied the room. He then said you will need to move to which we said no - he asked why and I said you is unpacked, likes the room and it would be very inconvenient to move. He said to me “you are just saying that to be difficult.” Amazingly rude. I had to say you rented us this room, we have occupied it and she is not repacking and moving due to your apparent mistake. While we were able to keep the room the clerk was snotty and unhelpful. He also said the room I got should not have been given to me either since it had two beds. Whole thing was quite distasteful for an otherwise nice hotel and stay. Maybe a simple error and worked out but the clerk’s behavior was rude and frankly absurd. Not sure I can recommend the hotel as a result.
