Petit déjeuner correct
L'etablissement est un peu vieux.
The breakfast was my reason for booking. Please keep providing your authentic Jamaican breakfast.
Some form of entertainment or guest activities would have been good.
Staff members were professional courteous and respectful
The hotel is excellently located on Waterloo Road, which Ben it was easy for us to get around the town for our tours or go to a supermarket to pick things up. It’s a walk away from Devon house and from Bob Marley Museum, also close to a number of embassies so the location is great for visitors on business or leisure. The staff incredibly welcoming and friendly. The hotel has a lot of heritage and royalty and celebrities have all stayed there. It has an old school traditional feel to it, and the staff will do their best to help or accommodate with anything that you need. The room was very spacious if a very large king bed and a sofa/living area and there’s a fridge so you can keep your own beverages. There isn’t a mini bar, but they have tea and coffee making facilities inside the room, the room is comfortable. They do a turndown service so you always come back to a tidy room. There is a bar and restaurant too - we didn’t eat there but popped in to take a look.
There’s 247 security so you always feel safe.
Breakfast was included in our booking, and they do a Jamaican buffet- the national dish, Ackee and Saltfish is on the menu daily, boiled yam, banana, callaloo, then a meat dish, plaintains and a selection of breads too. They offer local seasonal fruits and tea and coffee. It is quite formal table setting with white table linen. There is a dress code in the dining room (which I fell foul of on the first morning - no headscarves or bonnets, ladies!) but they are pleasant in the way they tell you- though, they should inform guests when checking in or add it to the guest information sheet in the room. That said, I like that the dining experience is always smart and orderly and people are not coming down in swimwear or sleepwear.
The the hotels pool is outdoor and while that is nice and refreshing, it could be better if they have a staff member there to keep it clean regularly because leaves from the surrounding trees often fall into the pool and on some occasions that put us off using the pool. This is nit- picking somewhat, but I do think it would be a good addition if they offer visitors a tour of the hotel when they check in so you get the lay of the land before hand and can get a sense of the hotel’s history, I think that would elevate the guest experience. Our room was nice and comfortable, but it is worth noting that not all the rooms have a balcony - despite the photos. The windows have a security net over it so that can obscure some light, but the windows are very large so when you throw back the curtains, you still do get a lot of light, but please take note that not all the rooms will have a balcony it’s worth triple checking that when you book if that’s important to you.
Localização, limpeza ( corredor cheiroso! ), lindíssima arquitetura, atendimento dos funcionários, confortável, estacionamento amplo, silêncio, excelentemente bem cuidado apesar de ser um prédio antigo
Nenhum ponto negativo
I did not stay there. I canceled my reservation.
I did not like be put in a room looking at a brick wall. The room had a funny smell.
Unique Colonial property but very dated
Front desk service is limited. Almost imposible to get support.
It needs an update.
All staff there were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Tiana and Jada in the Dining Room at Breakfast.
The Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choices.
The shower stall in the bathroom did not have a place (shelf) to put soap and shampoo while showering. Very inconvenient.
I didn't like the price for the one night.
Price for the room
breakfast was excellent, there were many choices. I also enjoy the fruits.
The property's location was perfect for my visit to Kingston, and the room was clean. I genuinely enjoyed my stay.
Despite my positive comments above, there were some areas that fell short. For example, I repeatedly requested an extra pillow, which was never delivered - it was needed for health reasons. Towels were not fully restocked, and even when requested, they were never delivered. The dinner service was subpar, and a simple step like repeating orders could have greatly improved my experience. The service at breakfast was really good.
It felt like home. The staff was friendly the food was delicious and served either dignity.
I wished the property was larger however the facilities were adequately spaced
The equipments in the room are old and need to replace asap. I have being using the hotel facilities over 26 years now and it’s been the same equipments. Need an upgrade asap. I will always use this hotel though whenever I in Kingston.
The staff, food and location.
I love the serenity of the environment, the food, the staffs customer service skills,
My room was very clean and spacious. It felt like home. This is my favorite hotel and I'm definitely coming back. Their breakfast in the mornings was so delectable and irresistible. You won't regret being there. Its definitely the place to be.
The bowl in their bathroom took a little while to flush, you have to know how to flush it to avoid stress. And that was the only thing i didn't like.
Room was nice and cozy. Full breakfast came with the package.
There was no bodywash in the room, only soap. That was the only drawback for me.
The place was very clean the food was so good and its a very good location to a lot of shops.
There was nothing i don't like about that place.
The service and the food were exceptional. The ambience of the hotel was just what I needed quaint and a calming ambience. It was also withing walking distance of the attractions I wanted to visit e.g. Bob Marley's Museum, Devon House
I can't really think of anything, and I am a seasoned traveler
