Overall a pleasant experience at Ereza Mar. I was a bit apprehensive after booking and reading more reviews in detail but there were no huge issues in our experience.
The location of the hotel is perfect - 10 mins walk from beach, 10 mins from marina, 5 mins from local bars / restaurants, 10 mins in taxi from airport. Couldn’t ask for much more in terms of location, spot on. The infinity pool overlooks the sea, we really enjoyed this and preferred it to the main pool in the middle of the hotel. The hotel itself is very quiet, perfect for those wanting a really chilled and relaxed vibe. However I did feel that the hotel was missing a bit of character and excitement - something as simple as playing music during the day would have boosted the mood a little. Likewise, the evening entertainment was on the boring side and many people didn’t stick around for it. Sunbed availability was a bit of an issue. The hotel was allegedly at capacity when we were there and people were getting up early to put down towels, not returning until the afternoon to use the sunbeds so quite unfair! We did raise this with staff once but they said this is the norm. I personally don’t like leaving towels down unless i’m using the space straight away, but we ended up doing this towards the end of our stay because everyone else was!
The room was ok, nothing special but well looked after and no huge issues with cleanliness / maintenance. Really comfortable mattress and pillows and housekeepers always did a great job. However the Netflix didn’t work on the TV and the shower temperature changed dramatically after moving the nozzle even a smidge. The hotel should consider getting some blinds for the bathroom windows, or getting a door that is not transparent; the light from outside woke me up early pretty much every morning. We had a balcony overlooking the sea with a table and chairs, this was nice and the outdoor space also had an airer to dry clothes / swimwear from that day. The Wi-Fi worked in the room but 4g / 5g had to be used elsewhere in the hotel, bit of a pain really as Wi-Fi was described to work across the hotel.
We enjoyed the pool tables on offer, there are three altogether and well looked after. Our only gripe with this is that they couldn’t be used in the evenings if a ‘show’ was on, we found this a little frustrating as we enjoy a drink and a game of pool in the evening after a meal.
We found the food to be good for all inclusive, we were pleasantly surprised on some days. Plenty of options, though always basics like chips / chicken nuggets on offer. The meat was always cooked well and everything always served hot. There was a variation of pork served (presumably because it is one of the cheaper meats to purchase). During our stay we had chops, tenderloin, and spare ribs. Chicken and beef used to make curries, stir fry dishes etc. There were some options for vegetarians too - vegetable lasagne, pasta dishes etc. The salad bar was great, fresh veg replenished all the time. The drinks were a bit of a disappointment, cocktails like sex on the beach, mojito etc. all came out of a machine and tasted poor. However lots of spirit options, and wine served at lunch / dinner / throughout the day.
Staff generally very welcoming, attentive, friendly. There was a lifeguard / first aider on site every day who was approachable, usually disappeared around 6pm ish.
Nearby places I would recommend:
- The MiniGolf near the Barcelo hotel - only €7.50 pp for 18 holes. The course overlooks the beach and is only 10 minute walk from Ereza Mar hotel.
- Trafalgar restaurant / bar - we only went for cocktails but they were yummy! Not even a 5 minute walk from Ereza Mar Hotel.
- Fado Rock Steakhouse - Ribeye’s the size of footballs, great value for money! About 15 mins walk from Ereza Mar.
Lovely hotel
Friendly staff
Clean room
We went all inclusive for a week (came home yesterday)
Plenty of food only issue is if you have dietary requirements
The food labelling is poor tbh
A few things labelled
As a vegetarian I had to ask every meal and they had one main meal option for some meals but often it was just potatoes or vegetables dishes...they have lots of mixed salad options but these have fish and meat added to most... saying that I didn't go hungry as plenty of bread and bits and pieces to have...if you have a food allergy or you are vegan I would suggest you reach out to the hotel before you visit
Not quite a 4 star hotel, it's a bit disheveled and tired. No safe in the room, so had to carry my valuables around everywhere. The bed creaked like a Spanish galleon, sun beds a bit knackered with no mattresses or parasols so no shade. Room a bit shabby and some really poor maintenance jobs done. If you want to sit by the infinity pool be prepared to get up at 7am, because the no reservation of sunbeds rule is not enforced in anyway. It would of taken 5 minutes every other day to collect the towels and people would immediately take notice. I booked the shower room on my last day to freshen up before leaving for the airport, it had no Aircon and I ended up absolutely sweating getting my fresh clothes on, my t-shirt was soaked by the time I got changed. Toilets on ground level next to pool don't flush. Now the positive stuff! Staff very kind and attentive, great food, hotel is in a fantastic location and with a bit more money spent on it in my view would be a great 4 star. I would go back because of the staff, the location and the price. So I suppose you get what you pay for!
We had a great time at Ereza Mar. Lovely relaxing week. Special shout out to Said in Entertainment . He was great fun, high energy and everyone was able to get involved. Never pressured to join in but always welcome if you wanted too. All staff in the hotel were so friendly and always help where they can. Hotel was super clean and room was spacious.
I had a wonderful stay at Ereza Mar! The hotel was great, and the activities made our holiday even more enjoyable. A special thank you to Said, who was such a pleasure—he made every activity fun and kept everyone smiling. His energy and friendliness really made a difference. We would happily stay here again!
Had a lovely week staying here in July, very relaxing. Food varied, a couple of nights it was very nice, otherwise ok. Breakfast was good.
We were woken on two occasions by guests returning from bars in the early hours.
No tengo queja
The room was a very good size, good location, really good breakfast and dinner. Thought the drinks included at dinner for half-board was a lovely touch, as many other hotels don't do that. Pool area was nice.
Not a fault of the hotel per se, but 95% of the sun loungers on the terrace were reserved by other guests with their towels and no sign of the people themselves.
I stayed at Ezra Mar towards the end of June. When booking the hotel with my friend stupidly we didn't read the reviews, after already booking we read the reviews and honestly they made me worry about staying here. The previous reviews make the hotel sound like it isn't welcoming to younger people (me and my friend are both under 20), the food sounded awful and the staff sounded rude. I can gladly say none of this was fitting with our stay.
The age range of guests is extremely varied, we met a group of people of similar age to us and families (no children obviously). If any younger people that are after a chilled hotel then this place is perfect. The entertainment on the nighttime isn't the most impressive but it's definitely a laugh (i think the sangria helped). The bar stays open till midnight meaning people are around until late, but staying on the second floor we couldn't hear anything until guests walked past our room. Noise doesn't carry around the hotel at all which is perfect (apart from the cleaners trolleys in the morning that sound like a train is right outside your door). The bar is basic but has more than enough to keep you refreshed throughout the days, we found that the alcohol didn't seem that strong but the staff made pretty much anything. The sangria was amazing with fresh fruit. Their cocktails come out a machine and I can't say they were my favourite. I had one and chose not to have any others but that may be down to personal preference. We found all the bar staff to be friendly, all the staff was including the cleaners.
The food is a difficult one for me. I enjoy a wide range of food and that's something the hotel didn't have. They had plenty of seafood but the food seemed repetitive the longer we were there. Breakfast was okay, basic just your typical breakfast foods. Lunch I found tricky as I found it difficult to make a meal out of the food available. Seafood seemed to be the main theme of lunch which was great but the type of food there was near impossible to put together. I found dinner to be the same. The food didn't seem to be made to pair with anything else so trying to make a meal out of what was available was difficult, we never found ourselves full after the meals and actually found ourselves feeling quite sickly. They used the same type of meat a lot meaning that by the end of the week we were sick of pork and squid as they seem to repeat recipes a lot. By about day 3 me and my friend decided to just start eating out, not great when we booked an all inclusive. But we found a restaurant around the corner "Cafetería The Trafalgar" that we loved, its cheap, jugs of cocktails, amazing staff, food, smoothies and more.
The room was clean and tidy, decorated in a modern style we had a room with a balcony looking out onto the street. The beds were so comfortable and had plenty of space. The only negative for me was the shower. I prefer a lukewarm shower when I'm on holiday and that was near enough impossible. Every time i turned the temperature up even slightly i could guarantee that after 2 seconds the water pressure would drop and the water would turn scalding hot then it would turn freezing cold. My friend had cold showers and she said she didn't have an issue so it's obviously just an issue when you add heat. The shower is also almost to the floor so unless you put a towel down and keep the door open please expect the bathroom floor to be a swimming pool. Other than that the room was perfect, there was more than enough room for two of us to share it, the wardrobes were a good size too. There is a safe but its 3 euros a day and a 20 euro deposit. You need to give the receipt and the key back at the end of the stay to get your 20 euros back. We used the fridge to store snacks, drinks and milk that we brought instead of paying to have what was out the fridge.
The reviews on here complain about the sunbeds and I do agree. There doesn't seem to be enough for the amount of people in the hotel. If you wish to get a sunbed around the pool then you need to be up at about 7am if not earlier. There are always some available later in the day but you just need to look out for them. The rooftop was our favourite, the view is amazing. There were always sunbeds up there along with daybeds. Its calm, the jacuzzies are there along with outdoor showers.
The hotel being right next to the ocean is perfect too. Outside the hotel is volcanic rock leading to the ocean that you can walk down but the waves are choppy and getting out the sea can be difficult unless you have great upper body strength. If you leave the hotel through the back gate by the infinity pool and turn right, follow the footpath and ocean round for about 10 minutes around the corner until you reach the harbour and the beach there is quiet, large and the sea is lovely to swim in.
Overall I think this hotel is great, its just the food that really lets it down. If the hotel was in another area I would come back. As 2 teenage girls we didn't feel safe in the area especially later in the day/into the night which honestly put me off the island. I'm not naive enough to think I should be safe at night but the amount of drug dealers in the area really put me off the entire place. We found them to be quite aggressive when we say no to their offer which put us on edge. They never come outside the hotel but its something to be aware of if you're walking back from being out for the day or are planning to go out on the nighttime.
